Trust the process
This paste smells absolutely DISGUSTING!However, you have to trust the process- once it is cooked off, the smell goes and the umami taste it adds is worth it. Perfect for Nasi Goreng.Open all your windows though, as it does whiff

Both shrimpy AND pastey
Simply the best shrimp paste out there. It's super grey and super shrimpy and salty and perfect. There's no substitute for this shrimp paste, it's perfect.

Its good but smells of the devils latrine
What ever you do do not judge this product by the smell, it is quite the most repulsive smell but expected. It is splendid if used properly and adds levels of flavour t o your cooking and food. Splendid.Internal packaging is a bit weird and you have t o take paste from wrapping and decant to container

Pointless single-use plastic bag inside
I use it for Thai red curry paste because it's a listed ingredient. I wouldn't know how to compare it with another brand for quality; it smells and looks pretty rough and how one would tell it had gone off is beyond me because it already smells like it has. I'll have to check out how else I can use it. Marked down for the needless additional plastic.

Not bad
The favour somehow is not I expected. I had tried something more impressive.Good to have it if you feel bored in cooking and wanna try to make Asian cuisine.
