Okay, it's a doorbell. The style is nice, button is illuminated well, and works as it should. Two minor things that keep the star rating down.First, this is supposed to be antique bronze in color. In reality, it is antique brass. When placed near door hardware that is actually antique bronze, it is pretty obvious. However, most people coming to the door are not going to gripe about all of it not being an exact match, so it will stay on our door frame.Second is the TERRIBLE hardware that comes with this doorbell. These are the softest screws I've ever seen. Could not get them in place and tightened because turning them with any form of screwdriver causes the screw head to fragment and strip. Will have to get some replacement screws at the hardware store to finish this job up correctly. Seriously, don't cut corners on hardware.Still rated 3 stars because it is otherwise well constructed and works every time. The light isn't the Gotham Bat Signal or anything, but you cannot miss it, especially if the porch lights are off.

Mixed review on this doorbell button...Pros:* Looks nice - modern look.* Brushed nickel finish - matched our mill-finished aluminum screen door frame and fairly close match to brushed nickel door handle and lock.* Narrow width - mounted directly onto our mill-finished aluminum screen door frame.* Housing is made of solid piece of cast metal.* Surface mount design, doesn't require drilling a huge hole.* LED light - stands a chance of lasting years without burning out, and energy efficient (considering its on all the time). Nice, soft light perfect for nighttime visibility.Cons:* Construction quality is lacking.* The brittle plastic inserts holding the top and bottom of switch are brittle very poor quality plastic, and readily break. They are poorly fit into the metal frame, so are under stress and hold the electric connections out too far (need some fussing with to fix this and make them surface-mount, as intended). I had to use lots of super glue to hold my cracked plastic pieces together. It's fragile.* casting flash on various pieces, such as on the metal frame where it rubs/scrapes on the plastic button when operated, on the edges of the stamped copper-alloy button spring/electric contacts, including where they make electrical contact, where they contact the plastic button, and scrape against the LED light circuit board.* corrosion prone materials ("raw" copper alloy) in the electric switch / contacts. This would likely stop working right after exposure to humid air.* mounting screws are soft - possibly aluminum. Work around this by pre-drilling hole, use soap to lubricate screw threads while initially threading in, and be careful/gentle. I had to unbend one that started to bend, but got them to self-tap holes pre-drilled into aluminum screen door frame.Most of the cons can be fixed, but what a hassle! Not highly recommended.

It actually works after we had to pry out one of the screws, which had been pre-screwed so tightly that it was just about impossible to remove in order to wrap the wire connections. Product is over-priced for what we got.

Contemporary doorbell is sleek in design . The material is substantial.Cons:1 Finish had some imperfections2 cavity for wiring is shallow Advice to those using a doorbellthat is hardwired or wireless. When hard wiring,a diode is necessary for the chime to complete. Wire the button first to determine which way the LED will light. Once this is determined, touch the two screws with the diode that maintains a lit LED and make it permanent.

American made And it’s much sturdier than the builder door bell.For those that say they returned it because it didn’t fit just drill a new hole tap in a plastic anchor.If it doesn’t light up can you flip the wires from one screw to the other and voila it lights up that simple

Wanted a doorbell to replace the builder grade, very small and plain doorbell the builder installed. This doorbell is longer and wider than the old doorbell, and is raised somewhat. My husband replaced the old doorbell in minutes, and worked perfectly with the chime we had. Looks exactly as shown in pictures

Excellent product, easy to install, looks great. Worth spending a few bucks more for this one made of metal as opposed to the cheaper plastic buttons.

Nice looking product, seems to be good quality.The actuation (how well the button works) is so-so... if pushed in the wrong location the circuit doesn’t complete or is difficult to complete.
