NEO Z-Wave Plus Motion Sensor Z Wave Detector Home Automation, Easy Installation, Works with SmartThings, Wink, Vera (Green)

Item paired fine, but never reliably reported motion or temperature. The temperature regularly reported it was 32F when it was mid-summer and over 90F in my garage. Motion detection was hit or miss. Finally the device decided not to communicate with my Vera Plus at all. I unpaired and tried to re-pair it. It wasn't detected the first 3-4 times and when it finally paired, it now it perpetually detects motion and insists it's 78F at all times... when it's winter.About all I can say that is a plus for this product is that it's easy to mount.

If you mount this anywhere, it's the perfect motion sensor, i'm only giving it 4 instead of 5 stars because i just have it sitting on a shelf, and because it's litterally a sphere, it doesn't stay put. The stand it comes with only has a small flat spot, so it often tips over when the shelf it's on is bumped. I put a command strip under it and holds it down, but they could have designed the foot slightly larger to be more stable.

Work's well, I'm using it with SmartThings and a Wemo outlet currently. It doesn't have Temperature included.

Works great, let's me know when the dog wants to come back into the house.

Connected to automation system without any problems. Very reliable motion detection. Excellent battery life. Installed may 2019 still on original battery as of March 2021

Works better with device handler when using smartthings

I've installed this in a kids play room and passthrough to storage room. So far it's been reliable. A cheap alternative to the fibaro that I already have.

Updated Review July 2019:I bought 2 more to add to my security network. The name changed when I added it to my Domoticz V4.10717; the new "Shenzhen Neo Electronics Co Ltd Battery Powered PIR Sensor V2+" the old "Neo CoolCam Battery Powered PIR Sensor+". Shenzen-Neo updated the Open Zwave xml file incorrectly in Dec 2018. I updated the "manufacturer_specific.xml" file by changing the coding "Product type="0003" id="108d" name="Battery Powered PIR Sensor V2" config="shenzen_neo/nas-pd02z.xml"/> to "Product type="0003" id="008d" name="Battery Powered PIR Sensor V2" config="shenzen_neo/nas-pd02z.xml"/> when I noticed it added as ID=008d to Domoticz instead of ID=108d. This change made it work. If you are not tech savvy enough to make this change then I doubt it will work for you. This could also be a Domoticz error instead of Shenzen-Neo, but I doubt it. The newer version does not update from the queue as easily as the previous version. If you press the wake up button then send updates it works OK, but may take a few tries.The CR123 cells in the first 2 lasted as advertised. The one that saw most motion died without warning (normal for lithium primary cells) after 11 months of use (only motion detection is sent). The other is still going strong at 100% (normal for micro-controllers reading lithium cells to be off).Original Review Jul 2018:I bought 2 as extra security while on vacation. These work with my Domoticz software (Aeotec Z-Stick controller) better than any other device I've used to date. They were easy to add and easy to adjust parameters to operate how I wanted. I have them set where they see movement all day. One shows 91% cell life and the other shows 100%. The one at 91% has more motion in front than the other.Not too impressed with the screws in the package. They stripped out and bent easily (not hardened at all). The double sided tape was also junk. Plan on using better screws if mounting.These NEO Sensors update parameters from the queue easily. Unlike my Aeotec water sensors which never would. They work great with Domoticz v4.970.
