Its certainly not black as pictured. Its gray and I do like it. Its cotton but not flannel and the thread count isn't very high. It's more of a linen cotton fiber (strong cotton)

It looks exactly like pictured and is a medium weight cotton, made very well. I ordered one very similar for three times the cost from a high end retail/catalog store and had to return it because it was not as pictured. This one is ‘on the money.’

PLEASANT.No issues here. This duvet was exactly what I was looking for. I put it in the wash and it came out nice and I've been enjoying it a few days now.The buttons at the bottom are sturdy.The material is of a linen texture - somewhat coarse, so if that's not your jam then you might want to pass this one up. I, however, think it is nice and fluffy. Cozy in the winter, but I think it will be nice for summer if I use a thinner comforter inside instead.
