Ventline (V2018-02) Colonial White Exterior Vent for Ducted Range Hoods (Quantity 6)

Very sturdy plastic vent. I used them for crawl space vents - much more attractive than plain ole galvanized screened vents.I installed perforated aluminum sheet "screens" into the back side of the vent before installing the vent. By cutting the perf aluminum with sheet metal snips very slightly larger than inside dimensions of vent, the "screen" is wedged into the vent tightly, avoiding fasteners and labor time. (The rectangular sleeve at the back side of the vent is thick and sturdy plastic construction).I used aluminum perforated plate obtained at Online Metals, 1/4" dia holes, with free area equal to the free area of these vents - just measure the open area of the four slots in the vent and select a perforated plate that matches this free area. Uniform Residential Code requires maximum screen opening size of 1/4-inch.

Bought this to vent the front storage compartment in my 5th wheel RV. I changed from 2 standard 12V batteries to 4 6V golf cart batteries which won't fit in old battery compartment so I had to move them to front storage. Installing this vent to get the battery gas out. Looks nice and like the louvers. Do wish it came with bug screen but will add some screening myself. Should still get enough airflow with this size.

I'm sure this is New Old Stock, was covered with dust, and yellowed from age, but I made it work. The Seller could have wiped it off before it was sent but, maybe they don't care as long as they get their payment.

Easy to install, product as described. One clip was broken but it's not a deal breaker.

Replacement vent easy to install and looks good. The old one was cracked and weathered it had been exposed to the sun for about 12 years.
