Worked a treat

Worked with high spec monitor
I connected this to a high spec 24" IPS (Full HD) monitor from LG. Even though both the PC and the LG had VGA sockets this screen would not display anything using VGA only. I even tried a VGA to HDMI converter to no avail. I purchased this cable and it worked without a problem

Cable for connecting an old monitor to a new PC.HDMI at PC, DVI at monitor end. Plug and play works really well.

Wrong type
Says scart to hdmi and that it connects to dvd players but didn't realise it was only for computers. It is not for connecting a dvd player to a TV like I need.
