High quality, good for 4' freshwater aquariums.
After more than a year I finally popped this powerhead apart and cleaned the impeller. Was only slightly slimy inside. This pump is so quiet I need to put my ear against the glass to be sure its working. I have it in a 75 gallon tank and this is the correct size powerhead for freshwater cichlid tank. Not big enough for a 6 foot tank in my opinion, would take 2 of them. Just set up a 125 gallon tank so I bought a larger one (Voyager 7 at 2800 gph), I had to install the diffuser supplied with it to keep my fish from being "blown away". The Voyager 8 would be two big for a 125 freshwater setup, but probably not too big for a reef setup with wave maker. The quality of both of these powerheads is top notch, they are heavy duty, and quiet running. The larger Voyger 7 has a noticable hum, but for the water movement it creates, it is pretty quiet. My Hydor 1200 gph powerhead failed in less than a year, would not start back up after buying a new impeller and I was determined to try another brand. The quality of the Sicce easily exceeds the Hydor and has already lasted longer without the slightest hickup. At first it seemed that the Sicce 1200 gph was not as strong as I expected, the diffuser seemed to inhibit flow. It can be installed with adjustable flow or fixed into position with max flow. The perception that it was not as powerful is likely due to its quiet operation. After a short time it was apparent it was moving way more water than my first impression. Sicce is the best powerhead I have purchase in the price range they are sold for. Very satisfied, reccomended buy. 1200 gph is good for 55gal and other 4' tanks as a solo powerhead. Betting it would be a lot for a 30 gallon tank.

Great little wavemaker
It is the perfect size for our 10gal Saltwater tank. Gets a good miss or currents with the HOB in the tank also. I really like that you can change angles with it also which makes it a lot easier to find that "sweet spot" for water movement.

Strong and Gentle water movement
I have four of these in my marine tank. I like that they have a “softer” flow than my previous circulation pumps. They move a lot of water in a more gentle current. They aren’t overly noisy but do take a fair amount of room inside the tank. My only complaint is that sometimes after being unplugged for cleaning - when plugged back in they need to be tapped several times to get the impeller turning. Probably because I only brush the outside and don’t take them apart for each cleaning. Otherwise I am satisfied with their performance.

Mislabled pump!.... but once I got the right pump, they are great!
I ordered two of these on the same day from Amazon (decided later in the day to order the second pump). First one arrived, I unboxed it and installed it. I ordered the Voyager 3, and that is indeed what is marked on the box, and what the label on the pump says. However, I was quite disappointed in the output. It was definitely NOT 1200GPH.Then, the next day, the second pump arrived. It too was labeled "Voyager 3" on the box and the pump, but the magnet was definitely much LARGER and the water flow output was SIGNIFICANTLY higher, definitely the 1200gph it is rated for. Obviously this other pump was mislabled by the manufacturer. I am returning the incorrect pump to Amazon for replacement, hopefully the replacement isn't botched up also.I will say this, they are VERY quite on the Red Sea wavemaker. You only hear the humm of them running, which is very quiet. No click/clack on startup.EDIT, 5/19/2013So far these have been marvelous pumps, extremely quiet. They are really big for their flow rate, but that's forgivable. Magnets are strong, flow is very WIDE as it should be, and is by FAR the quietest pump I've ever, EVER seen on a wavemaker.EDIT 11/16/13Still going strong and silent for the past 7 months. I haven't needed to remove them to do anything. I may add a third one for additional water flow at some point, but they have been on a wavemaker for the whole time, and they don't even make a single click when they turn on.EDIT 3/2014Still awesome pumps. I recently took them off the wavemaker, but they were still running VERY quiet on it. I just get more acceptable water flow without the wavemaker.I've cleaned these twice in the past year, believe it or not. Both times when I've taken them apart, the intake (outer shell) was covered with stuff (normal debris) but the impeller was squeaky clean.By far the best circulation pumps I've ever had. Yes, they are big and bulky for the power output, and you probably should buy a more powerful unit than you think (two of these is barely sufficient for a 24" cube tank).Edit 1/2015These pumps are still kicking tail, I'm extremely happy with them. Yes, they are bulky for their GPH output, and they don't get any smaller as they age lol, but for quiet and reliable water flow, these are the kings.

Great price and quality! Fantastic flow!
Love this powerhead!! I have a 54-gallon corner saltwater tank. I already had a smaller powerhead from my 36-gallon tank but needed an additional, preferably larger / more powerful, one to also use to maintain circulation and flow in my larger tank. This one definitely gets the job done! It does take up quite a bit of space (about the size of two ladies' fists next to each other), but so does any decently priced, large, powerful powerhead. It attaches easily and stably through my tank glass. You can also choose how much flow you want it to generate by fully opening or slightly closing the holes that the water is blown through. I think this feature is awesome because it allows you to customize your tank based on the types of fish and corals you have and their corresponding flow preferences. All in all, I'd definitely buy this product again if I ever needed another powerhead!
