Very adjustable
I like the adjustability of this product. The mousepad rotates 360. The armrest adjusts in height and tilt degree and also rotates 360. The only con is the large black knob that adjusts the clamping of the whole thing onto your desk. It's too bulky, which caused the contraption to not fit where I actually wanted it (as close as possible to my pullout keyboard). It's still okay because of the adjustability, but my arm is off to the side farther than I would want it to be. A different desk may not have the same problem and may have plenty of room for the knob.

Drawbacks
I used the arm rest for a week but ended up returning it. Three drawbacks led to my decision:1) The mouse pad is elevated above desk level so your arm will be higher than with your previous situation. In my case, that led to shoulder pain because putting my full arm weight on the arm rest would likely have broken the clamp that attached it to my desk.2) The height of the arm rest is adjustable so it can be below, level with, or above the mouse pad. That's a good thing. But the design is such that in each instance the arm rest and mouse pad are parallel with the floor. While that might seem like a good thing, it can lead to discomfort.3) The mouse pad surface hearkens back to to early mouse pads geared to work with roller ball mice. But my Microsoft optical mouse constantly had troubles caused by the occasional stray dust particle or cat hair that landed and adhered to the porous surface. Once every few minutes I had to blow or pick stuff off the pad so my mouse would work.

Immediately reduced my "mouse elbow" pain
I purchased this as I had a recurrence (worse) of mouse elbow that had been helped by using a vertical mouse. However, I really pushed myself too far by returning to using my right hand at work for mousing, and increasing my video gaming time (world of warcraft). I paid the price. Excruciating pain and inability to grasp or lift. I determined that the biggest cause of pain was the "hanging" of my elbow, but did not know that these products existed. I googled "mouse arm rest" and found it, and after looking at multiple models and reviews, ordered this. It arrived on time, and was very easy to set up. I tried resting my elbow on it which didnt work, but now have a nice position where my forearm rests on it. Within several days, and being a video game enthusiast, I played WoW at my same rate, even longer, and found that my pain lessened, and my grasping was not as painful. Now, about five days after using this (and switching back to my left hand for work) the pain is virtually gone except for the slightest tinge. Nowhere near what it was beforeBottom line: This thing works. It takes the stress off of the elbow muscles and tendons completely.Adjustment: very easy to tweak as it "ratchets" a few milimeters in two different locations.Size: it really is smaller than I thought, which is good. I attached it to my slide-out keyboard tray.Position: I recommend you adjust it so your mid-rear forearm rests on the moveable arm.Movement: fluid and so good you barely notice its there.Comfort: I find the mouse pad to be a bit hard, but the arm pad is great.

How Handy!!!
This thing is great! I am not using it at a desk, I use my laptop in my living room every day, it's on an "arm" of it's own, and this is clamped to the small table beside my easy chair. It has really helped with the pain I used to have in my wrist and arm. I have really customized my little computer work station, and this piece has fit right in. Like the laptop arm (I can move my laptop around, up and down, left and right, ... it's awesome and streamline)this mouse pad arm fits into the look and the functionality of my small space. I love having my laptop in my living room and these arms have allowed me to do so without looking big, bulky, or ugly.Having the mouse pad attached to this arm is great! At first I wondered if I'd like that, but the arm and the mouse pad are greatly adjustable and quick to change on the fly depending on my posture... it's just awesome and I'm so glad I came upon it here on Amazon! 2 thumbs and an arm up! :o)

Very sturd and very helpful!
I score sleep study as well as set them up and monitor them. Our polysomnography computers are C.O.W.s an acronym for computers on wheels. When I monitor the studies I have to sit there for about 10 hours total. When I score them ( that means interrupt the data) I have to sit there for 2.5 to 3.5 hours straight. There is no where to rest my arm so I bought this! It coupled with the Evoluent Vertical Mouse, has save my arm and wrist from long term injury. I strongly encourage you buy this if you do not have suffient arm and elbow support at your desk. I am a 5 foot 11 inches and 212 pounds white male. Have very larger arms due to long term exercise regiments ( I have to offset my sedentary lifestyle at work but lifting weights and running 4 to 6 days a week for 2 hours). Now all I need is a good chair.UPDTE: 8 other people at work bought this and they love it.

An OK product
The unit is easy to set up and offers adequate flexibility. It does what it was advertised to do, i.e. relieve stress on your wrist. It does transfer some of the stress to your forearm; however, I am pleased with it overall.

Just What I Needed
I had been searching for something like this because the office where I work does not have chairs with adjustable armrests. Glad I got it. At the computer, my forearm now has an ergonomically correct place to rest, which translates to less stress on my wrist, shoulders and neck. I have found that once I discovered the 'sweet spot', I never had to re-adjust it. The construction is sturdy, and has stood up to daily use. All in all a great purchase that I can heartily recommend.
