Really fun little pancake lens. This 28/2.8 is my second Voigtlander, after I bought the 40/2 Ultron.  Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f/2 SL-II Aspherical Compact Pancake Manual Focus Normal Lens for Nikon Film & Digital Cameras They look identical in dimension.Focus is sharp at center from wide open. The far edge is not as sharp and there is some strong vignetting when wide open (as expected from a pancake lens of this focal length). Very easy to correct in post processing.Manual focus is buttery smooth and precise. All metal and glass construction gives it a quality timeless feel. On a smaller DX/APS-C camera, these lens are perfect in terms of physical size and balance with the camera body. On the bigger full frame DSLR bodies, they fit better on the relatively smaller and lighter D750, D6xx and especially the retro looking DF. Putting this lens on a D8xx or D4s reminds me of the Master Blaster from the Mad Max (#3) Beyond Thunderdome movie. Tiny lens on a huge body -- yup, Master Blaster is the right analogy. Look it up. ;-)Price/performance value is really great. I think these Cosina made Voigtlander lens are a well kept secret. May not be the most technically "perfect" lens based on the numerous test sites, but the pictures they render just look beautiful to me.I would recommend this lens to those looking for a small well crafted manual focus lens.

This tiny lens far exceeded my expectations. The color and clarity and sharpness is great and the small size makes it my go to travel lens.I paired it with the 40 and 20 and now even the 58mm and my kit is still light and covers all my travel and hiking needs.I've not yet compared its distortion to my other go-to wide angles so I can't comment on that yet, but it seems reasonable for a small wide like this.Manual focus is very easy with a 28mm lens - so don't let that worry you too much. The 40 is also pretty easy, but 58mm is more difficult (I like to shoot wide open and the DOF is very thin).My nikon 2.8D lenses were fine, but I sold them long ago looking for better quality. The Nikon 1.4's are still on my shelf for when I need AF or the 1.4... But the Voigtlanders go everywhere for everything else!

Had this for 3 days. I love it. Buy it! Definitely a well made lens and I love the picture saturation crisp sharpness and it looks cool. love the all metal construction no worries about warn out rubber. If you have the Bucks go for it makes pretty pictures and manual makes you feel like a real artist my opinion. Thanks angry photographer.

Fantastic lens

No complaints about this lens. The 28mm focal length is my favorite for landscapes. Shorter lenses bring on distortion. The 28's keep the background not so distant in the picture. Just right! This Voigt is a great lens. So is the Voigt 40mm F2.
