Taste yummy!
Arrived today and first thing tasted it! It is very smooth! Love the flavor! I love companies that produce superior food products. Quality not quantity! Atlas olive oil’s is quality.

My favorite brand of rice.
According to my Amazon purchase history, I have bough (and eaten) almost 193.2lbs of this rice in the past 13 years. Mostly in 15lbs bags, with a few 4.4lbs bags thrown in. In roughly the same time span I also ordered (from Amazon, I also bought some basmati from an Indian grocery store) 60lbs of basmati of varying brands (Tilda, Royal, and Daawat, the last brand of which of have been favoring in recent years). I m not saying this is the best of the Japanese style rice brands you can get, but it is the best I have tried, though I only specifically remember getting Calrose japonica rice before, which I was not at all as happy with. And almost all of that rice in the last ten years was cooked in a Zojirushi ns vgc05 3-cup rice cooker hat is still going strong. So in short, I highly recommend this rice, and am also giving a shout-out to my trusty rice cooker, which sadly is no longer manufactured, though I am sure similar models are still available from Zojirushi.

Very Nice Rice, TOO expensive
I would give it stars but not from a pragmatic aspect of cost and utility. It is a very nice rice but it is too expensive to notice the difference if you are properly cooking your rice in most cases. It also seems to be milled to a much greater degree which has its pros and cons, pros being better flavor and greater consistency when cooked properly but cons are you need to be MUCH more precise when cooking and the water used has a much greater impact on flavor.

fantastic taste
I use this product in my electric rice maker. The rice comes out like you might expect to have in a Japanese restaurant- I add just a bit of salt and butter to the finished product. I make extra because the rice is so delicious, stores well and goes with many other dishes. So Yummy - will never buy another type of rice!

Short Grain Rice is Short
I decided to make my own musubi and onigiri, because it's delicious and I like to cook. Not knowing the difference, I first tried some jasmine rice, and of course it wouldn't hold shape. It was just a mess. Then I purchased the Tamanishiki Super Premium Short Grain Rice, prepared it as instructed, and it worked beautifully! Maybe I'll try my hand at sushi soon as well.
