Replaces OEM part number 83.031000.01, please see your operator's manual to verify fitment. If the dipstick number in your owners manual (can be found online) does not match this number this dipstick will not fit your generator. Why should I consider a magnetic dipstick over the stock dipstick? Like the magnet on the drain plug of several models of automobiles, a magnetic dipstick will pull any ferrous metallic fines from normal engine use that are in the oil. Since these small engines do not have an oil filter, this will help extend the life of the engine. This will help protect your investment while maintaining the functionality of OEM. The high temperature super magnet is partially recessed inside the dipstick and secured with an oil tolerant, high strength (4500 PSI), high temperature retaining compound. There are other versions of magnetic dipsticks, why should you consider this version? Although the basic principle is the same as others, there are improvements that make this design better: 1. A hexagonal body vs. round body Why is this version hexagonal instead of round? A round piece is difficult to grip, especially when any oil gets on it. A knurled surface is difficult to clean. A hex allows for easier gripping with fingers (or if needed, a wrench). The flat surfaces are also easy to clean. 2. Type 2 anodization vs. bare aluminum Why is this version anodized? Type 2 Anodization will greatly reduce or eliminate the chance of the threads galling or freezing together (versus bare aluminum), allowing for trouble free and damage free removal. The durable yellow color signifies use with the unit and also protects the aluminum. 3. A flat O-ring vs. round O-ring Why is a flat O-ring used? Just as supplied with the dipstick, a flat O-ring is supplied for better sealing and longer life. The dipstick is CNC machined from 6061 aluminum to high quality standards.

Not fully magnetic, only the TIP
The media could not be loaded. I am confused. While I don't know much about engines. Everyone on YouTube and in reviews says you need to get a magnetic dip stick. the idea is good. BUT I would expect the dipstick to be magnetic. But ONLY the tip is, not the whole thing. the tip is very small and I am not sure how good that will work.I got this for my new Champion 3500 that has not arrived yet. BUT do have a Honda 2000 generator that I got 2 years ago. I got a magnetic dip stick then too. So I checked. That one was also only magnetic on the tip. Although I did notice the magnetic dipstick for the Honda was lightly magnetic for about 1/2 inch from the tip of the dip stick. Guess what, it had no metal filings. So am wondering it this is just a fake out.

Fits my Firman inverter perfectly
Fit into my Firman inverter perfectly. I ran the inverter for about two hours after install and then checked the magnet. The tip was already black with metal shavings! I’m very glad I bought this, although it’s somewhat pricey for what it is. I plan to have my inverter for a long time and this seems like a reasonable investment.

Shipped to an incomplete address
The magnetic oil dipstick is masterfully machined and anodized, and magnetically enough to attract residual steel particles and possible shavings. However, it was shipped to an incomplete address, as we live in a non-USPS delivery zone; we included the appropriate address (physically with the appropriate P.O.). To receive the magnetic oil dipstick creates friction with the local USPS and potentially getting returned to the shipper.

Well machined
As a mechanical engineer, I can tell when a part was cheaply made on a lathe. That’s not the case with this product. The finish on this product is great. Yes, it is a dipstick/plug with a little magnet. But, you can tell that GenExhaust cares about quality by this simple part. GenExhaust has some other exhaust parts that I was skeptical about buying. I have no worries about making those purchases now.

Perfect for for Champion 3400
This is a quality product that fits perfectly in a Champion 3400 dual fuel generator. The magnetic tip really works to collect any metal shavings, especially during the break-in period.

Great for determining metal in oil
I installed this in my new generator before break in period. After the required hours changed the oil and found some small metal shavings on the end of the dipstick.

Very well crafted Does not fit Westinghouse DF4500
Sad that I cant use this product, its very well made. looks like the thread size would fit but there is not enough clearance from the side of the housing to allow installation, its also too long for the DF4500 - this is generator specific. If yours is listed as proper fitment I would highly recommend. again im sad I wont be able to benefit from this product.
