iRobot Roomba Authentic Replacement Parts - Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal, Compatible with Roomba i Series Robot Vacuums Only

I love this thing. We originally purchased our I7 without the base, and while it does a great job, it only does a great job until the bin is full. If you are running it when you are not home, it might not be able to finish because the bin is full. Believe me, the vacuum picks up a lot - mine runs 6 days a week. It’s just my wife and I and 2 cats in a 1700 square foot home - all hardwood - but there’s still plenty of dust and dirt every day. Enter the Clean Base. It’s so cool. The Roomba gets full and goes back to the base, empties (and charges if necessary) and is back on the job. And it stays on the job until the job is finished. And the bags in the base have enough capacity that only change the bag every 3 or 4 weeks. Do yourself a favor and don’t do what I did. I tried lesser systems and always had mediocre results. Trying to ‘save money’ by buying the cheaper solution. I wish I’d bought the Roomba first and I wish that I’d not waited to get the clean base. Buy them together and enjoy a clean floor every day with little fuss. I do clean the filter in the Roomba’s dust bin every few days and check it for tangles or excess hair/fur, but mostly it just does the job without any intervention. You can’t say that about lesser vacuums and you can’t even say it about the Roomba without this base.

We got the i7 roomba for Christmas. It does a wonderful job of vacuuming the floor. We have a dog that loses copious amounts of hair. There are always big hair bunnies all over the hardwood floors. It doesn't matter how often we sweep, they still appear. The problem we found is that there is much more hair than you can actually see and the Roomba is so efficient that it fills up the dustbin rather quickly "with dog hair". When that happens, it just goes back to the base that came with the unit and notifies you that the dustbin is full. It can't do anything else until you empty it. Our downstairs is rather large and i7 can only do about a third of it before filling up. It's a pain to have to go downstairs and empty the bin as it "i7" can finish the job. Having said this, please don't judge me. You must think I have a rather dirty floor if it fills up so quickly. That's not the case. It's the dog hair. With the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal unit, the problem has gone away. It doesn't matter how fast the bin fills up, the sweeper goes to the clean base and empties itself and continues the cleaning job. Now that makes the i7 an absolute joy to have. I highly recommend this unit if you don't have it. Please remember that it only works on the "i" series Roomba. They sell the i7 Roomba With this Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal unit included but I tried to go the less expensive route and buy it without. Don't make my mistake

Before I got this base, my roomba constantly gave me error messages to empty the bin and it was becoming a daily chore. The roomba never finished a job because it needed it's bin emptied, even when it was nearly empty. I was regretting my new roomba purchase. I've used this base for about a week now and haven't gotten the error once. It now goes to the base, recharges if needed, then finishes the job. It's in my gym garage and I have two bunnies who prefer to be in their cage, but have free roam of the garage. I'm also in rural farm area so there's dust everywhere. Now that the bin empties, the fur and dust is under control. I've had to manually empty the bin once because hay gets sucked up into the roombas bin but doesn't get sucked into the base. The base seems to only suck dust and fur into it, but that's what I needed. The hay has gotten stuck so it leaves the little flap in the dust bin open and I'll get an error but it's a quick fix. I'm now happy with my roomba setup! The roomba by itself really sucks (not in a good vacuum sucking way) without this base of you have a lot of dust or animals.

I've had my I1 (I think that's its model #) for about a year. Always thought the tower/vacuum combo was too expensive and did not believe it would work as advertised. It does not. Saw the tower on sale, though, and thought - it would be nice to not have to empty the bin every day. Well, with the tower, you have to get up in the middle of the night to empty the bin. There always seems to be something that prevents it from emptying all the way. It worked well the first night, maybe the second. Now, 5 out of 7 nights it does not complete the cycle without some troubleshooting involved. Since I do the living room/kitchen/dining room and den at night, I often don't know it needed my help until morning, so job was canceled without cleaning entire area (this usually means den isn't done, which is the room that needs it most). Or I do hear the ding of assistance needed, and get up in the middle of the night to empty a bin because a tiny leaf is stuck, or it didn't dock properly. Returning it and putting back the reliable docking base and we'll just empty it the next morning and have clean floors again.

This was everything I didn’t know I needed so badly! For months I was emptying my roomba daily of cat fur and dust because it filled up so quickly, and I was having frequent issues with the filter getting dirty quickly. This add on was a huge time saver and I think it’s ultimately helping maintain my roomba. The suction is SO strong (and loud) but it is brief, so it’s not unpleasant. I have been using this daily for two months now and haven’t had to replace the collection bag despite it being used in a home with two cats. I also have no longer been getting filter errors because the suction (I imagine) is clearing the filter quite a bit, too. If you’re debating whether this is worth the money, it is, especially if you have animals! This was a total game changer and now I cannot imagine life without it!
