Outstanding Leica alternative,
I bought this lens for my Sony A7ii. I came from Nikon for over15 years and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this glass. I also paired it with the Yeenon close focus adapter and the results are marvelous. The lens is light, the focusing action is buttery smooth and the pictures are sharp as a tack. The lens is fully manual and the A7ii has focus peaking with magnification, making taking sharp pictures a breeze. But the boque, buttery smooth with beautiful colour rendition.I did not want to pay the $70 for the lens hood, so I went with the metal knockoff for $5. Unfortunately, it and the others like it, have harsh vignetting from f1.4 to f2.8. SO I got a F71 Flower Lens Hood 43mm and it works flawlessly. This is now one of my favourite lenses. I love the weight, I love the vintage looks, and most of all I love the photos I can take. Now I have my eye on the Voigtlander 75mm f1.8.I highly recommend the VC 35 to anyone you wants to get the most of his gear and enjoys shooting manual. If you have always shot AF, you should try manual. It forces you to think about the process and experiment. After all, its the journey that matters, right?
