It works
So I broke my company supplied Dell TB16 dock. I managed to mangle the Thunderbolt connector. Took it apart, got the part #, found this online. Other alternative was a new or used dock since I could not find a genuine Dell replacement part.It lacks the thick aluminum heat sink that the genuine Dell one has, but it's been a few months now of 8+ hours a day usage and no issues. It did show up as a different Dock (like, same model, but different serial number) to Windows but otherwise no changes.

Wrong cable for the WD15 dock
The WD15 dock requires a cable without pins and the part number ends in A00. This cable has pins that prevent insertion into the dock and ends in A01
