A great read. Became predictable though
A great read. Became predictable though, all the miraculous survival episodes. However, this is what you pay for with thrillers, esp when you know there is a sequel! V enjoyable. Fascinating look at terrorism and espionage in the current era.

Thrilling
Gripping, gritty & grueling best describes this superbly entertaining novel. From MI6 to the CIA to more nefarious stakeholders, it follows a gruesome terrorist plot from one country to the next. Death & betrayal are the name of the game. Thrilling!!

THIS AUTHOR IS NOT LE CARRE
SEEMED TO SPEND TO MUCH TIME WITH DETAIL THAT I DID NOT FEEL WAS NECESSARY .The ending and plot was good but would not purchase any other of his follow up books as i really struggled to finish it

Great book well written and a definite page turner
Fast pace and action was well described and a definite insight into the methods terrorists could go to achieve their goals.

Nomad by James swallow
I love thrillers but must admit I have to concentrAte carefully to follow them - and this was one of the hardest of all in that respect. That said, it wAs written in such a way that you could jump on board again. A BRILLIANT read and I note there is a. Follow up next year. Will it - can it - be so good? I don't know but I will be one of the first to try it out. Ps. Isn't there a 5+ category? This deserves it. Maureen Rowland-Aitken johannesburg South Africa

Just great reading.
The start was different from what I was use of. But after the first 30/40 pages it got speed and was great to read.

Truly Thriller Thriller
Truly thriller thriller. One of the best books I have read. The authors attention to detail is incredible. I enjoyed it so much I wanted to read it again straight away. Looking forward to a sequel. Quick James Swallow on to a sequel now!

Great plot and a gruesome mystery
Another entertaining Swallow novel. The plot settings and development are excellent with the central theme truly gruesome. Two criticisms - the first is that the publisher needs to employ a competent proof reader to avoid the spelling mistakes and a competent fact checker, eg. regarding General Pershing - not a WW 2 general at all. Gives the misleading impression that this was a rushed job which spoils an otherwise polished product.

Unputdownable Read
This is my first James Swallow Book. The delivery was on time and the book was delivered in pristine condition.Nomad is a spy thriller, and can be best described as a hybrid of Forsyth and Ludlum tempos. It will keep you guessing till the end.

A great start to a series.
Marc Dane is a forward mission specialist for MI6, the British Security Service. Marc is the ‘bloke in the van’ supporting Operations Team Seven, call sign ‘Nomad’, when things go fatally wrong. Follow Marc in this Spooks style thriller as he helps stop some bad guys and terrorists.I liked how Marc was a behind the scenes tech guy rather than a gun wielding super-hero. I loved all the technology that was brought into play. I loved all the detail of the equipment and methods used by all the characters, the good guys, the bad guys and even those guys who were just doing their job. There was a surprising range of ordnance used throughout this thriller. Heckler & Koch submachine guns, Mossberg tactical shotguns, Colt M4 assault rifle, Glock 17 semi-automatics to name just a few. Oh and some HMX explosive plus many other types of bombs, large and small.Nomad is an action packed thriller and with all the bombs and guns going off, there was a very high death toll by the time the battle worn reader got to the last page. I did dislike the slaughter and playstation attitude to gun fights. These gun battles were the least interesting parts of Nomad but with 496 pages there were plenty of pages left for top rate content.I found the military technology very interesting including all the hi-tech things like drones. I liked how data was analysed and the many hacks that were used, especially the hack used on a vending machine. Men joke about all the junk women carry around in their handbags but Marc had an Aladdin’s Cave in his ‘go-bag’ - a rucksack he carried all around the world in his quest to bring down the bad guys. The plot was scary although it would not work with girls wearing crop tops in the summer! I found Nomad to be a wonderful piece of escapism that was very entertaining. It covered a lot of ground with lots going on and no dull sections to wade through. The plot was deep enough to maintain my interest throughout. Writing this review and looking back over this story, it was a big long adventure. Some people compare Nomad to I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes but in my opinion this is a far, far better novel. I think Nomad is an OUTSTANDING 5 star read, so good that I am not starting to read the next in the Marc Dane series called Exile.

Jumping Jehosifat. What a powerful book. James,Swallow has truly created an amazing cast of players in Nomad. One of the most fast moving stories around today. If you like a good thriller, the get thrilled and read this book. I can hardly wait to read the sequel. Highly recommended.

Dam good read.
First book in this characters series. Found the character by picking up one of the books in the series further along. The main character interested me as he wasn’t your typical hero. He had doubts and you could see that he wasn’t the gun ho type from the start. That book mentioned his beginnings and how he went from the techie guy to the gun guy. So I grabbed the first in the series. It was a dam good read. Didn’t put the book down and read it in a day.

Nomad
Non all'altezza della recensione del libro. C'era da aspettarsi parecchio di più coinvolgente. Abbastanza deludente da tutti i punti di vista.
