Womb Wisdom: Awakening the Creative and Forgotten Powers of the Feminine

This really is an astonishing book. I have also read the authors'  The Power of Shakti: 18 Pathways to Ignite the Energy of the Divine Woman , and recommend it also. However, I feel that for most people, my first choice would be this one, Womb Wisdom. I think it is more accessible, and the exercises require less prerequisite knowledge of energy work, chakras, Tantra, etc. In this book Anaiya (wife of the main teacher/author Padma) is more present, and shares many of her personal experiences with her teachings, which resonated more directly with me. In both cases, these books are probably best read in conjunction with attending the authors' workshops, as the material is esoteric, and the language can be hard to follow without some prior understanding.That being said I have not attended a workshop of theirs, and in fact have no other knowledge of them other than these books, although I have studied women's energy body teachings, Tantra, the chakras, and divine feminine teachings before. I found both the material and transmission behind these books, especially this one, to be truly magnificent, and very generous, considering that many of the teachings are drawn from spiritual traditions that are often very closed/protective (traditions of Tibet, Egypt, India, Gnostic Christianity and Kabbalastic Judaism.)Womb of Wisdom is designed to take the reader through a journey of 'womb spirals'. These spirals each represent one phase of our growth from spiritual infanthood to spiritual maturity, and correspond to levels of connection and understanding within our womb center (or 2nd/sacral chakra, as I am more used to thinking of it.) Exercises described include womb breathing, the 'black egg' practice, connecting the womb with the earth, and more. Sacred marriage/union/co-creation is also described, although most of this book can also be undertaken as a solitary journey. The section on the 'black light', the void of creation, is also immensely powerful. Another favorite section of mine was one on 'womb centers' around the earth.The book comes with a corresponding CD of soundsscapes/music with 4 pieces, each representing a phase of the journey. There's no instructions for using this CD, but I have been meditating with it, and find it very powerful.The authors connect women's shift into 'womb wisdom' as a big part of the much-written about 2012 shift. For that reason, I suppose this book will be classifed as 'new age' by book stores etc. I hesitate to do so, because I don't particularly like that label, and the authors themselves warn against the limiting 'light-only' focus that dominates a lot of new age teachings (and the 'spiritual junkie' mentality that can accompany this), but since this is a review, and I view it as my job to give potential readers an accurate feel for where this book fits amongst the vast array of spiritual material out there, I would have to say it is new age. Don't let that scare you off though. If you are feeling at all drawn to this book, buy it.

To me, this book felt counterproductive. It emphasized the physical aspect in a way that is misleading and plain wrong--for example, the absurd focus on a soul-mate who comes once in a lifetime. The womb and soul do not know limits. This is a limited and limiting book. Definitely prefer Dr Azra's and Seren's, which has real wisdom and not just self-descriptions.

It kinda just says the same things over and over again with different wording. Some key points did resonate, but overall it's not a great read. Wouldn't recommend

Didn't like this book. It's very abstract, with most concepts repeated over and over in an over new age spiritual language that I dare to say doesn't say much. Some parts are interesting, but far from what I expected seeing the title and the table of contents. Their other Shakti book is much much better!

Women's must read!

I cannot drop this book. Discovering the amazing powers of my womb is one of thee best things that has happened to me.

The authors state their opinions as facts.. that is my main complaint about this book. However, it is a worthy read.. some of the information is great and some of the womb exercises were really valuable. I really enjoyed the soundscape meditation cd that came with it.

Great book, containing something what every conscious woman feels deep inside. I bought it after a beautiful weekend workshop with teachers who were trained by the authors. Reading this my whole being was on fire! Yes, yes, the world needs this teaching, women AND men. Love it, practice exercises from it, implementing them in my own workshops, feeling the transformation. My womb is communicating with me all the time now.One of my treasured books I keep coming back to.

I am giving this book 3* because it may help some.I have only read the first few chapters but really cannot relate to any If it or the excersises.... I was really looking for a book to help me through the transition of menopause. I certainly woukd not give rhis book to a maiden either though,,,,, i was looking for something a bit more practical- meditations and breathing to help me connect to and help balance this stage of my life but so far it all seems to be about dealing with past trauma/ cutting toes with ex sexual partners and experiebcws which don't serve you and trying to find some 'past' to blane, release and cure for present ussues. Well not all of us have that.That nay be helpful for aome but to be honest, I come from a stable home background and have akways had healthy relationships -sexual and otherwise. i dob't have a 'womb mandaka' lol- if there are those in my life that don't serve it or I theirs, I just gracefully let them go. My mandala are the sane people and will never change. My sexual relationships and experiences have always been loving and healthy and ended beautifully. My union with my husbabd is divine as it is with my kids and parents. I am only saying all this because if your life is like mine but you are suffeting physical problems in that area- I am not sure this book will be useful to you either... If your life doesn't flow, if you have past sexual experience which was not ideal, suffered addictions and some kind of abuse- this may help you though. If anyone out there can point me in the direction of a good practical resource that can energetically help me heal my womb and open, clear, balance and energuze my sacral chakra, womb and nenopause, I woukd be nost grateful. For me this book is a little etherial and the author Aneya on you tube videos come across as very ungrounded. Not for ne but as I said may help some. X

Amazing book. I wish this book could be given as standard reading to all 16 year old girls as it is truly transformational.Thanking the authors for bringing this ancient wisdom and feminine empowerment back into public knowledge!One of the most important books a woman can read as it helps bring you back to your true feminine essence; not just themass-media images of what a woman should be, but how to get in touch with your true self and the magic within!

I was a bit disappointed with this book. Although the authors do take you through some practices and meditations step by step, there are quite a few practices where the authors spend time telling you how powerful those practices/ meditations are, but don't actually tell you how to do them. It left me feeling a bit cheated. I guess what they're trying to say is come and pay to work with us and do our workshops and we'll show you them! I have read a lot of other spiritual books but this is the first one which has taken this approach of talking about how powerful a practice is but not guiding me through it. I feel it would be better to go into the practice in detail, and guide people on how to do it, or leave it out of the book altogether. The approach the authors have taken, in some parts of the book, just felt frustrating to me (because of the vague descriptions they give) as though they're telling the reader how knowledgeable and experienced they are but not passing that knowledge on to the reader.

Amazing. I have not finished this yet. Its something that certainly needs to be taken gradually, its very potent, when it comes to assisting people to heal and move on from trauma, wounds and hurt.A very good investment for anyone who is experiencing grief/pain etc in connection to their womb, feminine wisdom and power

Great book. If you want to get to start on a spiritual journey and discover your personal power this is the book....... I have purchased for a friend too.

Lovely book with a lot of nice tips. Excellent read for any woman. It is a bit long though - but you easily skip chapters you are not interested in.

Está lleno de explicaciones esotéricas que no se relacionan en absoluto con ninguna experiencia empírica que ninguna mujer que yo conozca haya tenido (claro que en el libro hay testimonios de mujeres que se curan de pólipos en el cervix porque tienen relaciones sexuales amorosas y consiguen "purificar" su vientre de perversiones anteriores... transcribo la experiencia real, no estoy exagerando).En algún momento me pareció empoderador, pero a medida que avanzas te empiezan a hablar de ciclos místicos y símbolos que no me parecen coherentes (ni siquiera dentro de la "lógica" new age). En fin, a mí me pareció una farsa. No se lo recomendaría a nadie que me tome en serio.

I like it very much. It explains a lots of things about how the Universe works and what is our place and task in It, in an undestandable way. And also, there's some helpful meditations. I recommend it!

I stumbled across this book during the process of recovering from sex addiction and healing from cervical cancer. The ancient knowledge and divine femimine insights in this book really resonated with me. It's empowering, practical, multi layered. One of those books that you make notes in and read over and over again. It's deep. Its a companion. You'll want to buy several copies to give out to friends. I have already recommended to several friends and my copy is currently 'out on loan'. I hope it comes back to me soon because I am ready for the next layer.If you like travelling, this book has a very inspiring chapter on sacred, womb healing, places in the world to visit, plus a CD of womb healing music which is beautiful to listen to.

Found this book boring, difficult to read, could not finish it. A lot of fantasy belief. You can obviously really create a big thing out of anything.
