I’m from South Africa and was so excited to see this products on Amazon. But this is NOT Droewors!! The sticks are completely dried out, full of air and the texture of all the dried shoe leather. I can’t believe they are selling this product and I’m sad that people will think this is what Droewors is supposed to be. The flavor is good but something clearly went wrong in execution or I got a bag of old dried out product. Try Ayoba-Yo brand.. it’s delicious and has the correct texture and weight.

I'm surprised how low the reviews are for this product. I normally don't review things like this, but I hope people coming from the same place I am aren't too put off by them to give it a try. To be sure, I'm coming at this as a long time jerky and dried sausage lover that doesn't know what biltong is "supposed to be like." I also rather like the flavor of cloves, which don't dominate but come through strongly enough to be polarizing.What I don't like at all are the long term health risks of eating cured meats, and this seems like a great replacement. I picked up my first bag of this during a road trip because it was among the healthier options and split the better part of an entire bag with my driving companion over two days.No, they won't blow you away with how juicy they are relative to cured dry sausage. I'm sure there are traditional or locally made products that are better. The price is also a bit high relative to even healthier snacks like nuts and these bags might be too large if you're not sharing them among a couple people. They're calorie dense - that's the point - so you don't want to add these to an already complete diet if you're trying to lose or maintain weight.Nonetheless, these have become a great go-to snack food and easy addition to lunches for me. I've bought several bags of both the piri-piri and green chile and am quite pleased. In terms of price per weight/calorie, these large bags are quite competitive based on the other offerings I've seen on Amazon.It's a fair criticism to say that these don't quite match your taste or texture expectations - and I do look forward to tasting the competition - but I honestly find many of the aggressively critical reviews baffling.

This is a delicious low carb meat snack. Unfortunately the food industry has ruined beef jerky. It’s pretty much impossible to find jerky that is not loaded with sugar. Not this stuff, it is low carb and tasty. It is dry and somewhat hard but that is it’s appeal. I take small bites and it fills my mouth with meat flavor. No this is not your typical over processed sugary soft beef jerky. It is a hearty meat snack that is a great addition to a carnivore or keto diet. It’s a bit pricey so I took off one star.

My biltong sticks arrived this afternoon and when I opened the packet, the product did not smell good and is covered in mold. The packaging has also changed and while my first order was great, this one is inedible. I want a refund but can’t work out how to request one because Amazon just takes me to the return page and tells me this product isn’t returnable. Very unhappy!! I thought it was a fluke, because I have ordered this product 3 times before. The first, was so good, I ordered again...but I noticed the second order started to mold after about a week. I just figured it was a one time situation, so I didn’t worry too much about it. However, when I (stupidly) ordered for the third time, the same thing happened....in about a week, my product was beginning to mold. Not sure if it is the packing or what (although I did notice the product that came the second and third time was significantly different texture wise compared to the first order). Since I have now wasted $40 on two bags, it would be great if either Amazon or the manufacturer reimbursed me. Would NOT recommend this product!

I love biltong and droewors, bought this for the price. Sticks are very dry, hard to chew, pockets of air and flavorless. I can't recommend buying this particular brand.

I don't have a lot of time to write a thorough review right now. I'll come back and edit. I just want to note that I have been testing a lot of "Keto" style jerky over the last few weeks and this is my favorite. Most of the other options are very dry and salty in comparison.When I write a more thorough review I'll include some of the other jerky's I've tried. So far there are 2 that rise above the rest. These Stryve Keto Protein Snacks being one of them. People's Choice Beef Jerky being the other one. And their 1 lb bag is a great value. (takes a long time to get through one of those bags. I took one on a camping/hiking trip.) Search: "People's Choice Beef Jerky - Old Fashioned - Original - Sugar-Free, Carb-Free, Keto-Friendly - Dry Texture - 1 Pound, 1 Bag"I would say that this Stryve sample pack is the alternative to People's Choice. People's Choice is dry and salty, but very satisfying w/o the need for a lot of eating. The Stryve is tastier and not as dry, but also requires a bit more eating for hunger pangs to be satisfied.

These things were surprisingly good. Not nearly as tough as beef jerky but sometimes requires some extra chewing because they are pretty dry. A word of advice, if you plan on being a few with you in a separate Plastic baggie, maybe bring proof of what they are. A security guard who checked my bag at an event thought they were some kind of smokable drugs. “I ain’t never seen no beef jerky that looked like this”. But they taste pretty good and are filling enough to have as a keto snack with something like a handful of almonds. Just have some water handy, too.
