Be sure to slosh the Ink around in the bottle before loading it into your pen. Over long periods of time, the metals could settle to the bottom. It did with my brown version of this ink. Some folks might have problems with if they are using fine or extra fine nibs because the ink with respect to the gold, or in the case, silver ratios change if you are not using the ink in the specified ratio. It could cause clogging problems. Just a hunch. Other than that, this is an amazing ink by any definition. It flows great, absorption is excellent, the saturation is a bit intense. So, when you are finished using it, clean your pen completely because it will leave stains. This means flush it thoroughly and wipe your nib down a soft paper towel.Do NOT leave this ink your pen.It's a small price to pay to use this amazing product. I gave this ink a five star rating across the board. It's a shame I couldn't give it a 15.

This is a wonderful ink but by being based on amethyst from the Ural Mountains of Russia it is a very saturated and deeply dark violet. Nor is this ink suitable for fountain pens due to the solid particulate inclusions which comprise an essential part of the ink. It is more suitable for dipping pens as it adheres well to the writing tip of the dipping pen.For a lighter and truer purple color suitable for fountain pens, as well as being beautifully scented with the alluring aroma of Violette flowers, I recommend ‘Encre Violette’ (Parfum Violette) made by Herbin as well.

I love the green color, but I knew based on reviews this probably wouldn't work the best in my pen. I usually get extra-fine point nibs because my handwriting looks better with thin lines. I gave my only medium nibbed pen away. So I put this ink in the converter in my favorite ef nib pen and it worked great for the first day! Then the next morning I took it out to start writing and it was all clogged up with gold. I tried agitating the pen, removing the cartridge and getting all the ink out of the head but it just is clogged and won't write with this ink. I'll probably have to wash it with water to use it again with regular ink which is fine.Again, I knew what to expect, I read reviews that said it would clog in fine point pens and I still gave it a go with no regrets. Loved getting to write with it and now I'm going to get a medium nib for this pen so I can use the emerald of chivor again!$30 was a lot of money though so it probably won't be an ink I ever buy again but the gold flecks are dope.also the pictures don't do it justice to the amount of gold that appeared even just in the extra-fine nibbed pen.

Long time fountain pen doodler but I'm not calligraphist so before this ink I've never really gone for the complex fancy letter writing inks and stuck to the simple art ones. Glad I've given this ink a try, it's a dark turquoise that has gold glitter in it. The inks color makes the gold glitter more orange and muted in it's color and makes for a wonderful effect when you have the ink pool. Great ink, will probably try more from this company in the future.

The bottle needs to be shaken every time you use it, to allow the golden sparkles to diffuse through the ink. Shaking the pen too, helps to keep the shimmers flowing. I love the chunky glass ink bottle's shape, the lid, faux wax seal decoration, with golden cord; it all looks very special and delightfully retro, on my desk. I look forward to buying more colours in the future. Altogether, a pleasure to own, look at and handle - with care of course - the ink is permanent and takes some washing off hands if filling goes awry.I use this gorgeous ink in a Parker fountain pen, I enjoy the emerald green/blue colour and metallic shine on my writing. For signing cards, special notes to be presented with an individual flourish, this 'designer' ink is perfect. I have received compliments, and interested remarks on it already.

I will simply echo Mr Mischief's fantastic overview and those who have mentioned the beautiful gold particles in the bottle. The ink glides majestically on most papers and is a joy to write with and dries with a beautiful gold sheen which twinkles in the light. Yes it does need a little more care due to the saturation of the ink, but this should not deter any ink lovers from experiencing the joys of this exceptional ink - perhaps a one of a kind - I have approximately 200 inks, and this is the only one with these specific characteristics. I would suggest not leaving the ink unused in a pen for long periods of time as the gold particles do settle. I am however, annoyed with the £16.40 tag however as this ink is, and has been on sale for £11.40 in the majority of specialist stationers online e.g. The Writing Desk etc. At that price it really is worth every penny and as such I ordered a number of bottles when it was first released.

This is one of my favourite inks brands. I have different colours for my fountain pens. Due to the gold content, it is important to shake a lot before recharging the pen and it requires extra cleaning but the quality of the ink is superb

I bought this after seeing a review video and it looked stunning. I can't seem to get the same effect though and this ink is very expensive. The shimmery effect doesn't seem to last either when I use it so a bit disappointed. This is not the seller's fault though. I wish it had been what I thought it was going to be but its nice ink even if it doesn't shimmer like I thought it would however I will still use it as its a nice colour shimmer or not

Christmas gift for a 30-something who uses a fountain pen. Loves the colour and the smoothness of writing with this ink.I'm sure I will be buying this brand again.
