good stand

Its a bit heavy but holds my sousaphone well and its very sturdy. I play at events that are outside with strong winds, this stand stood up to the winds during downtime. I do recommend facing the stand and sousaphone side ways from the incoming wind otherwise the bell will act like a kite.I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a sturdy stand.

Just what i was looking

Don't mistake this for a support to be used while playing as it's really only for holding or displaying the instrument. The angle at which the instrument is held is not adjustable nor is the height. Both would have made this stand so much more usable. It is a sturdy stand however and does an admirable job of holding the instrument while NOT being played.

After a few weeks of holding my sousaphone, one of the bottom legs bent out of place. It never felt right to begin with. The weight on this is very hard to balance and it takes up a lot of space. It felt sturdy while the sousaphone was sitting still, but hard to balance when picking up or putting down the sousa.
