This is really delicious, so I gave it five stars (although mom's was better). I don't really know exactly what this ought to cost, but I think it's a pretty good deal, so I gave that four stars. We don't eat a ton of black eyed peas, but when we do, I want this stuff in it. No way am I gonna make it myself, sooooo :-D

My Mother-in -law loves this relish. She eats it on everything!

I grew up in the south eating chow chow that was prepared locally. This chow chow has captured that taste. I use it mostly on turnips and other greens. It is delicious!

8/22/2021 Packaging was great. Flavor and portions...not so much. Way too much liquid and not enough density. Almost watered down. Missing the savory flavors that chow chow is famous for. A little too heavy on the “sweet” side and not very flavorful. Not much difference between this chow chow and sweet pickle relish. I’m from the south and all the “good” chow chow made your tongue want to dance and be happy! This was more like a slow walk through a quiet park. It was Appreciated but still not as exciting as finally getting to the dance you’ve been waiting for all year!

While I was browsing on line with a vague hankering for pickled cabbage I found Amish wedding chow chow. I’d never heard of the stuff but I thought why not so I ordered. Coupled with left over roasted chicken and a dash of ground pepper and salt on a slice of bread. . . Ambrosia. It may replace pickle relish. I’ll be researching this for awhile with many and varied combinations ( roast beef, roast pork, hot dogs, hamburger etc)So I best get to it and order more for extended period of research I might have an answer in a year or several 😉

The flavor is great but it’s a bit pricey. Ended up finding a similar thing at our local grocery store for a whole lot cheaper. We use it on eggs or on our hotdogs or hamburgers. Love the taste but doubt we will get it again due to the price.

I am glad this chow chow is available on Amazon Prime. I first purchased it on a camping trip in Amish country. It is pricey but well worth the expense. It takes the common hot dog to the next level. I am sorry that it does not come in 1 gallon size. It will be a regular purchase for me, until I get bored with it and move on to something else. That is kind of the story of my life, but that is another subject.
