I bought a red case after a colleague showed me all the cool positions it did. There were so many positions, I was really surprised that when I got it and tried to put it into a position to type on my iPad Air, it kept collapsing. By "typing position", I mean landscape orientation with the top of the pad lifted 2-3 inches off the tabletop. You'd think the case would easily fold into a triangle fully or partially under the iPad to support this like so many other similar cases.Instead, it folds into a triangle beyond the top edge of the iPad, not under it. This means you must have an extra 2.5 inches of table space cleared beyond the iPad’s footprint.Worse, there are no magnets holding it into position (just gravity and the weight of the iPad), so moving your iPad forward the littlest bit causes it to collapse. I do this constantly when just using the touch screen in a normal manner. I don’t think this position would work at all if you didn’t have a smooth surface.Looking at the photos of the case again today, I noticed that none of them show the iPad in a typing position, which I find to be an interesting exclusion.I’m keeping the case because the price was great and it does what I need it to most of the time. It’s slim-fitting and doesn’t take up a lot of room in my purse. When I’m watching movies or reading, the other positions work pretty well. All the device corners are protected, but it’s really easy to get the iPad out of and into the case. I think it would protect my iPad in a routine fall…my gauge is that it provides enough protection that I’ll leave my 3.5 year old niece alone with it for a few minutes (she’s been known to throw the device if she gets mad at it).

PROs:Protects iPad air really good while remaining relatively lightLooks awesome. The matte red is beautifula and the material feels greatVersatile positions. Other than the regular 'straight' folds, the landscape and portrait options are far better options, much more stable due to the strength afforded by triangulating the material. Additionally today i kind of by accident figured that for landscape you sort of get an infinite amount of angles if you set it in the 'wrong' orientation where the origami portion shapes itself into a sturdy stand. Now, that may not work as well if your surfaces are very smooth, but as long as they have some grip the case will give you a very wide range of anglesAuto cleans? - probably not intended, but if you carry it with you, you end up with a very clean glass as the protecting material rubs against it. The only thing is that the origami ridges don't touch the screen so i guess you end up with a thin triangle that you can still clean yourself. ONe thing i do is ensure no hard particles attach to the case/stand as i can see how that could end up scratching your glass.CONsNone so far. One veeery minor thing is that my case had a very slight bulge on the upper left hand corner of the cover. While I didn't complain about it i did get a nice followup email from them and i'm fairly certain they'd be happy to replace from the looks of it, but it's such a small thing that i don't think it's worth it at all, plus being matte you can only feel the bulge and can't really see it

I was thinking of buying Apple's $80 "smart case," but then I regained my sanity and immediately took to Amazon to look for something similar and affordable. I was immediately smitten when I saw the rooCASE and when I received it in the mail, I knew I had made the right decision. The craftsmanship is top-notch; the case fits the iPad Air perfectly. I was glad to see the red color I ordered looked just like the product picture (too often product sellers get a little creative with the Hue/Saturation filter when they prep their photos). The soft texture of the case is nice and feels great in my hands. Protection-wise, it isn't the most coverage you could possibly get, but I anticipate that my iPad will stay inside for most of its life so it suits my needs well. The origami cover may have a bit of learning curve, but it's extremely functional and holds the iPad up nicely. I would definitely recommend this case to anyone who has an iPad Air, even over Apple's official ($80!) case.

I bought my husband a new iPad Air for his birthday and chose to get this case to go with it. It was a great choice! In addition to his red case, I also bought a purple one for myself. Both arrived in excellent condition and I was pleased with the vibrant colors. They fit our tablets perfectly. The sleep/wake feature works well. I love that the cover can be folded and used as a stand for many positions. The magnets are strong enough to hold the stand in the folded or flat position. I have not dropped my iPad, so I can't speak to how well it protects against drops, but it does protect and cushion during normal use.We've had these for a couple of months now, and they are showing slight signs of wear. The material will show dings and dents, but they have held up very well. For the price, they are definitely worth it. If they start to look bad, I'll just order replacements.

I bought an iPad Air because of its weight and design (as well as loving the iOS integration). So I wanted a case that didn't affect that too greatly. True, most of the lightweight cases do not protect against falls, etc. I'm okay with that. I wanted scratch protection and a stand. I saw this gorgeous case at a designer handbag shop that starts with a C, but for $198. Exact same origami style. So I jumped onto Amazon and found this one. $20. Awesome!This case fits the Air perfectly. My iPad snapped right in, with all ports and buttons perfectly exposed and centered. The cover part, which is origami style, has the magnetic feature for your on/off functionality. The stand allows for easy typing, reading and movie watching angles. The case is super light and thin, but has a great deal of protection. I got the RED color, which is a vibrant and rich red. Not orange or purple or pink... a perfect red. It actually matches Apple's red color, and it's as thin as the Apple case.Great case I would buy again and highly recommend.

This case is fantastic. The various positions it can hold the iPad Air are all secure and useful. The hard shell which the iPad sits in is perfectly fitted and all ports, speakers, microphones and cameras are fully accessible. The sleep/wake functionality is perfect.The only negative is that after having the case closed for a while there is the pattern of the cases origami grooves left on the screen. These are easily cleaned away with a microfiber cloth. Just a bit annoying.

These are the best tablet cases out there. My wife has one for her kindle and I got this one fir my iPad they are awesome light and offer fab protection. These are quality and will always get a rooCASE!!

Great case, much better than Apple case. Easy to clean with nice bright colour. It works in portrait and landscape to read books/newspapers or to watch films. Also folds like Apple case for typing. Great for the price.

Received a day early. It's got a nice feel and fits the ipad air perfectly.Only negative about the case is that the front of the cases doesn't stick magnetically to the back when the case is open.
