Thought I'd update, 3 years later and this is still going strong, including the gas lift. Super! Lovely bed, amazing storage and so easy to put together for an absolute novice, took about half an hour total. No instructions but if you don't rush it I found it easy enough to figure out. A lot of people say the gas lift is too strong (which put me off buying initially), its not bad. Strong enough so that its easy to open but easy enough for one person to shut in my opinion (and I'm pretty weak). None slip fabric on top is also very good addition. 100% recommend. Perfect!

I ordered the double ottoman side lift in Mink, and it looks great. I ordered a matching headboard from another company and Mink colour was easy to match - they are a great match! I am really happy with the bed - the internal storage compartment is well made, and is a solid hard board so very good for storage. The bed came in two pieces, which you just clip together with the metal clips. Very straight forward. The gas lifts are great - no complicated installation there either, as it comes ready built. You just need to put in place and turn the bolt to secure. The bed didn't come with instructions, but I emailed the bed centre who sent me comprehensive instructions via email which were really easy to follow. I have copied and pasted these below. The delivery was a 2 man delivery, and they were very good. I live in an apartment with lift and they had no issues delivering and to the room of choice. I am happy with the quality, and the look and design of this bed, and compared to the leading retailers - the price of this bed is just such good value for money. The ottoman lift is sturdy - i have a simba comfort mattress and it works well. I love the height of the bed too. I specifically wanted this bed - because it is not a slatted base - it is a platform base which is what i wanted Ottoman Instructions Both bases should have one side with round corners and one side with square corners, the round corners remain on the outside and the square corners come together in the middle, this is so that you get a clean joint where the two half’s meet. Raise the bases on to their side so that you are facing the underside of the bases where the black material is visible. Take the castor wheel or the glide legs (depending on the model of the bed) and insert into the studs for the legs. After inserting the castor wheel, tap firmly until you can hear a click which will indicate that the wheels have secured home. If you cannot hear a click do not worry they will fasten home when you turn the bed back into its correct position and sit near the edge to provide extra pressure. Once the castor wheel or the glide legs are fitted securely and the bases are again flat on the ground, push the bases together. Keeping the round corners on the outside, the bases should fit together flush. From here lift the ottoman lid to expose the inside. The gas lift arms are pre-fitted to the inside of the base, proceed to fix the gas lift arm to the lid. This will keep the lid open to make the next steps easier. While the lid is open and both are bases together, use the two ‘U’ shaped clips to hold the bases together via the inside of the base box. Additionally there will be two bolts which are to hold the lids together. Thread the bolts through the premade holes on the inside of the lids securely. Please note the gas lift arms are designed to hold a variety of different mattresses and as such are quite powerful. Due to this, the lid will only close once a mattress is placed on top and the weight of the mattress will keep the lid closed.

Great quality single bed. Just right for a small space as there’s no extra room taken up with a headboard or cladding on the outside like so many others we looked at. It feels like it’s built well and the gas powered lift was stiff but just right after a few uses. The delivery guys were great and called us with our time slot on the day. 100% would recommend

This was bought for a spare room to provide extra storage space. Does everything we need it to do. The lid is quite difficult to close with the mattress we have, but that is quite light and with a heavier matress would probably be well balanced.The result of this in our case is that the lid is very easy to lift. Particularly like the non slip top to the base which stops the matress sliding off when lifted. Good storage space, not quite as deep as we would have liked but more than adequate. Solid base in storage compartment. Quite easy to assemble with 2 people. Seems well made and was well packed. Delivery was excellent with the 2 parts of the base being taken straight into the bedroom. Would highly recommend this item.

Great price and good quality - arrived in two parts which just need clipping together. The pistons are very strong and need a heavy mattress to keep the divan top closed. There's plenty of storage underneath - more than a wardrobe, and it takes little effort to open up. The stippled surface is designed to stop the mattress sliding when you open the bed but I find it lacks grip. Apart from that, the build is great and it looks very nice.

I wanted to buy an ottoman bed with storage space underneath for the spare bedroom, but the room size meant that the bed base needed to be exactly 90cm, the same as the mattress. This one is just what I wanted (unlike most of ottoman base on the market seem to have a wider base with the mattress sitting slightly inside the frame). The base has a nonslip top where mattress sits on so that it doesn't move around when opening the base. Inside the base is wooden and very solid, good enough for storing some heavy stuff you want to hide from view. The colour is slightly darker grey than shown on the picture, but is very nice and blend in easily with the room. I put the base on the floor directly and didn't use the four feet supplied.

Looks lovely. Plenty of storage space. As others have said NO INSTRUCTIONS. It may seem simple, but I had a friend come and put together as I am not able. The bed has been put together but my gas enabled lifters have not been set up. When he first set up bed, the top of bed would not close (no mattress). He took apart and set he would have a look on line and come back in a few days. If you're not familiar with this it can obviously been confusing. This is the only reason for 3 stars. 😒
