I've had this almost a year, I use it with my small big green egg, I keep it under a cover when not in use and it's perfect. Cleaned for the first time today and there is no rust, etc. Great for removing ash as well as moving coals around from the side. Very happy.

Tool is much smaller than the original Green Egg tool. It is not as easy to use as the original. Wish it was about twice the size. The ash removal end is about 3/4 to 1 inch wide and takes twice as long to remove the ashes. Still a good product, just wish it were bigger.

This tool is functional for its intended purpose.Regrettably the item description states that it is made of “ Nickel plated stainless steel” but mine is already rusting while hanging outdoors on my big green egg table for only a couple of months. The hooks I installed on my table to hold this and other tools are real 304 stainless and don’t show a speck of rust or corrosion, but this tool which has been exposed to the same environment is rusting out just like my OEM ash tool did.So, buy this tool if you want something that you can use to clean out your big green egg, but so do knowing that it’s probably going to show surface rust along its whole length in short order. If you buy it on the basis of the “stainless steel” description you will probably feel cheated like I do.

I use my ash tool with a Primo grill. This tool fits through the door well and is able to reach the back edges without issue. My complaint with this, and probably most like it, is that I can not reach the front edges well. The hook on this could be a bit longer to really allow me to get a good cleaning without having to take all of my grates off.

Great tool to remove ash. The only reason I have it a 4 was it could not reach the back of my XL green egg.

Whether i'm grilling with gas or charcoal, or running the smoker one of these is usually in reach....
