First of all the wine glasses are very nice. Another reviewer said they are like plastic..well they are not. The base is metal, enameled with rhinestones. I love them! Now the big reason for bad reviews is the box. It is not a great presentation box and yes it is sealed with tape. Pulling the tape off damages the box. These were made overseas so not sure how else they could be shipped without damage.Since the glasses were for me, I threw the box out but if buying for a gift, you might want to think about it. Anyway...it is just a box. The glasses would be the gift...

Got these for an anniversary present for October. The details are beautiful, the glasses are sturdy and sit well in the hand. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
