This book is well written and supplies good information. Many techniques are explained in terms that are easy to grasp.

Today, there is no doubt model making has reached simply awesome hieghts and if one was to be completely honest, a bit disheartening when starting out or taking the hobby up again. Chances are if you are thinking about dusting off those old tools from your youth, you've looked at some pictures of aircraft - or indeed any model - with a sense of astonishment and probably a little bit of dispair.Fear not. There are hundreds of YouTube videos out there some of which are frankly, superb. Others would make watching tarmac set seem interesting....One would think that these videos are all you need and up to a point they are.However, there remains a place for a book that takes you gently by the hand and gives you the push on the metaphorical bicycle that's just had it's stabilisers removed into the vast and varied world of scale modelling.And scale modelling is all about painting. And if you are going to take it seriously enough to want to become good then you will have to use an airbrush - simples.So here we are. A book that gives you the basics and then helps you choose the correct way forward and then demostrates the techniques needed to create a masterpiece in minature.All the ground is covered up to a good standard that will be reached - but only with practice. And of course this makes the hobby all that more satisfying. Use this book and grow your skills until you can produce something to be genuinely proud of.This book will show you the different airbrushes, how to use them, and the best way to achieve various paint effects. You can find much of this on Youtube but having a book that you can easily dip into helps enormously too.The author writes clearly and concisely with excellent grammar. This helps because you are not distracted by the mumbings of an enthusistic but limited writer.The pictures illustrate techniques that match the words very well and overall the book will help the beginner and middling modler alike.Highly recommended.

A good read,and it has been helpful with my model making.

Just getting back in to model building after a break of 35 years and wow have things changed. Everyone uses a spray gun now. This book takes you through everything step by step. How they work, what sort of compressor, kinds of paint, mixing, spraying and cleaning. The photographs are as informative as the text. Now I know why my paint doesn't look right and what to do about it.

The book covers not only how to select any buy the right airbrush(s) to suit both your pocket and specific modelling need, but covers how you can expand your general modelling skills and techniques to achieve fairly high level of model building. A recommend read and genuine value for money.

Very informative and well worth it if you are looking to improve
