Such a great cookbook from one of the best home cooks around!
So happy to have a cookbook in which every recipe is something my family will eat!! As soon as I got it, I decided that I am going to attempt to make every recipe in the cookbook! So far, I have made the Spiced Orange Pork Roast (which was very good and thanks for the suggestion to pair it with sweet potatoes--perfect), Cece’s Garlic Green Beans (very good!), Kid-Friendly Jerk-Chicken Drumsticks (this one is going to really slow up the process of trying all the recipes because they keep wanting to have it again!), Maple-Balsamic Pork Chops (please don't tell my husband about the balsamic part, because he loved these Maple Pork Chops and was none the wiser!), Cheeseburger-All-the-Way Pasta (I subbed the pasta for gluten-free pasta, super yummy!), Sunday Best Pot Roast and Gravy (I left out the mushrooms and wine because I didn't have any--just used more potatoes and broth, so, so good!), Rosemary-Honey Ham, still enjoying two days later!!), the Make-Ahead Egg Casserole (with the ham from the day before, delicious!), and last but not least my daughter-in-law made us the Late-Night Fudgy Brownies (what a treat!!) I wish I had taken photos but I'm always too hungry and just want to dig in, but I will try to add some later as we continue to try these tasty recipes! So there you have it! Nine recipes in and I am so excited to continue my challenge to make every recipe in this book! It is no surprise to me that I love these recipes, I have been following Lisa’s Facebook, Instagram and blog since I bought my Instant Pot!! Not only did she teach me how to use and fall in love with my Instant Pot, she also inspired me to cook more. In her videos, I watch her cook with five young children ”helping” and all of a sudden cooking alone seems super easy! I mean seriously, if she can cook from scratch with all that going on (it’s really quite adorable, she is so patient and loving and let's them help, teaching wonderful life lessons and passing on a joy of cooking) but anyway, it makes cooking alone seem not nearly as daunting, even from scratch!!Her blog is full of other recipes that we love, her Maple-Vanilla Ice Cream and Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream are at the top of the list all summer!! I have a whole binder devoted to recipes I have printed from the blog, that our are favorites!!I love cooking from scratch especially because I can't handle gluten or MSG (both give me migraines) and it's so much easier to control avoiding things like that if you know everything you have put in your food. And I feel like it saves me a ton of money! (An added bonus is the great taste of food cooked with fresh spices from my cabinet and not some can or envelope.)Speaking of saving money, head on over to her blog or social media for lots more ideas on saving money in the kitchen, store shopping comparisons, meal plans and more!!

Awesome cookbook from This Pilgrims Life’s Lisa Burns!!!!
Love this Cookbook! It is healthy food that you can make for your family from scratch. It is a lay flat cookbook, which makes it easy to use. There is a photo of each recipe. The recipes are kid friendly, so I know my grandsons will be eating healthy! The author is very friendly and approachable on social media and does many Facebook lives, where she shows you exactly how she made the meal. It is great that if you need to you can reach out to her. I love to see her children helping in the kitchen where they are learning a life skill and having bonding time with mom. If ever there was a book I would recommend, it would be this one! Thank you Lisa Burns from This pilgrim Life. Awesome Job!!

Great variety of recipes plus optional support on blog and YouTube
I hadn't used my Instant Pot before buying this cookbook, but her blog inspired me to start! The recipes I've tried have been easy and delicious. The variety is great for a beginner like me with several simple but tasty recipes to start and more variety for now that I am more comfortable with the Instant Pot. If you're on the fence, go to her blog to test out a recipe. I recommend searching "This Pilgrim Life ridiculously easy chicken" for savory and tender chicken breasts every time. She never skimps on seasoning while making it kid-friendly but never bland! She also has YouTube videos if you want even more visual support. The photos are breath-taking, and so far my food looks just like it - minus the cute napkins and plates, haha!

Quick, healthy meals that are picky eater approved
My extended family to include 3 grandkids are staying with us in between selling their house and closing on the purchase of their new home. I have been working on eating healthier because I have an autoimmune disease. This means eating whole foods and cooking from scratch. I was worried the grandkids wouldn’t like my cooking so I ordered this book. Success on the four recipes I’ve tried so far. Picky eaters from age 6-14 approved! I like the simplicity of preparing the meals as well as the flavor. These recipes are quick to make and quick to get eaten and allow me to continue eating healthier. Win-win in my book!

Easy to read recipes, lacking nutrition information
We have had an instant pot for a couple of years and I thought this book might help us understand the things we can prepare in the IP as we seldom use it. We really liked the layout of the book with photos and recipe information split up to easily understand. The big thing we miss about this book is the nutrition information. We are on fairly strict diets (for health reasons) and this book gives us no indication what we are eating nutrition wise. So although we will try many of the recipes we might have to modify them to fit our diet. Our first attempt was the Seasoned Rice & Pinto Beans page 27. Wow! What a miserable failure! Our beans never softened and there was very little flavor. I'm thinking the beans were old but not sure. We will try again soon with all fresh ingredients. Our second recipe was a huge success. It was the Cheeseburger-All-the-Way Pasta page 60. This was very easy to make with a wonderful array of flavors that were still great as left-overs a couple days later.Overall, the book is great. We have "stickies" on many many pages of recipes we would like to try and look forward to the day this book has more food on it than what's written in it. Just wish it had nutrition information.

Real Healthy Food for Really Busy Families
Lisa's cookbook is a game-changer. I wish I would have had access to something like this when my kids were little. The recipes are healthy, yet down-to-earth and embody all of the nutritional, organic, and clean-eating options that we have been looking for in an Instant Pot cookbook. We have three generations living under one roof, so finding dishes that please everyone can be difficult. It's great to have healthy recipes that will make the grandsons and the grandpa happy. Excellent descriptions on ways to customize dishes to your taste and straight-forward cooking techniques that make it even more efficient to use the Instant Pot for everyday cooking.

Use each week!
Been using this book once or twice a week the past month since I bought it. So helpful, especially for a new pressure cooker user 😊 The broth recipe has been wonderful!
