TCM On Moonlight Bay/By the Light of the Silvery Moon (DVD) (DBFE)

These are fun, goofy, and silly, but well done in all those areas. If you want something feel good, silly, and not at all worrisome, then grab these. They are sequels. I definitely like the second best, Silvery Moon. Marjorie, (Doris Day) is a young women, who thinks she's a boy, till she moves to a new town and meets the boy next door who is just home visiting from college (Gordan Mcrae). There are some mix ups and some nice songs. My favorite in both movies is the little brother, he's a scream. It has a delightfully cast family and household Maid. In the second, Gordon Mcrae is just getting back from the war and isn't so sure he's as ready to marry as he'd planned when he left Marjorie, so the fun begins again, with other suitors, a mix up about her father and an actress, and a Thanksgiving Turkey you'll never forget. So fun, I want to go watch it again just thinking of all the corny-delightful laughs.Enjoy.

Doris Day and Gordon Mac Rae do a terrific job in the singing.**(Gordon Mac Rae is in Oklahoma and Carousel musicals. He hasa very pleasing voice!!) Doris Day is a tomboy and fixes carswith no problem. Gordon goes into the army and they fall in love.The majority of both movies leaves you with a warm feeling. The two moviesare part of the set with "On Moonlight Bay." and By the Light of the Silvery Moon".Billy Gray is a youngster with a pet turkey that hides it for turkey dinner. Leon Ames playsthe dad(authority figure).Basically both movies are very enjoyable for the price!

Love these movies! Didn't know they existed until I saw them both for free on Prime Video. Had to own them on DVD . Great bonus features too!

I like Doris Day...and really enjoyed her in her Rock Hudson movies; "Move Over Darling" with James Garner; and a couple of her dramas with James Stewart, James Cagney, along with "Black Lace"...and I really enjoyed her two movies, "On Moonlight Bay and By the Light of the Silvery Moon". Some of the others with various male actors were so-so for me! I recommend this movie to anyone that loves Doris Day movies!

Delightful light comedy. Old fashioned melodies in the movie and extras provide insight into an era which may not have actually existed as portrayed but represents stable family life, morality, and decency. Gordon and Doris were excellent singers and provide an example of a young couple in love in a bygone era. Respect and dignity (mostly) are showcased. Rosemary and Leon have always been my favorites. Beautiful print and sound. Young Billy Gray just before Father Knows Best is a delight.

We've had these two movies on vhs forever and watch them every fall as a family tradition. Our VHS tapes were getting pretty worn and beat up so I decided to look for CD's. I was pleasantly surprised to find this 2 for1 CD! I ended up putting it in my daughter's Christmas stocking and she was delighted. Many thanks!

LOVED these two movies! Doris Day is delightful and I love all of the songs. It is a great movie for the entire family with lots of songs and funny story. I really miss these good old days of good clean, innocent family movies. These are best bought in this set since one is a continuation of the other.

Two great actors, Doris Day, and Gordon McRae in these movies. These two people had such great chemistry between them, and I loved it when they both sang, since they were so talented. What great voices these two had, and such a funny and touching love story. Everyone in the movie did a great job on their acting, such as the father and son. This is the kind of movies you would never want to only watch once. Worth the buy!

Brilliant! I have just loved this film for years and years. So thought it was time to have my own copy, I can watch whenever I feel like it. I wasn't disappointed. I got all cosy on my own and watched both in a mini film-a-thon with a small sherry. I love Doris Day! It was wonderful, she really was brilliant.The performances of all the cast are memorable too, each one in it's own right. The family are so lovely and wholesome they make you want to be a part of them. The young boy who plays the brother is hysterically funny in these films, the mother is brilliant as is the father....and the maid...well it's well seen she's been with the family for years, or she'd never get away with some of the things she says. Doris Day was so good in her time, it's such a shame that while she gave so much pleasure entertaining others, she suffered so much horrible abuse from a husband who beat her up regularly..controlled and spent all her money, leaving her with nothing after years of hard work! Then losing her only child/son, it's amazing she carried on.Anyway if you're thinking of buying...don't hesitate as you'll smile from ear to ear as you watch! Films of this era, really were enjoyable films with great stories, unlike the tripe you get now!She was made of sterner stuff of course and worked harder to gain it all back again.

What a bargain. Lovely Doris Day in two of her best films, all in glorious colour, with great songs (of course - who could compare with Doris Day!), wonderful sets evoking the elegance of the turn-of-the-century period in America, romance and the sheer joy and fun of it all! This double pack is just one of several TCM box sets I have bought recently, and they have all been great value - well worth buying a multi-region player for.

Two excellent fils starring Doris Day and Gordon McCrae. The Video and Sound transfer are extremely good. Far better than expected.

Great films, bring back old memories.Did not need to contact seller, arrived on time and in perfect condition, would buy again.
