brought it for the hype
I shoudn't have brought it, im not saying it's bad, but the gimmick dies off pretty quick and after that all you're left with is a really cool toy.

An artist's pencil that keeps the lead from uneven wear-out
Though on a slightly expensive side, this is a pencil that suits an artist, architect or a writer who needs the lead to remain sharp and pointed without uneven weariness. Even single lift of the pencil from the paper, turns it a notch and keeps the lead/point sharp. The build is plastic and though looks well-built, I would not suggest it for school going children, it is more suited for adults. The package doesn't look enticing enough for its asking price. On the downside, it uses the 0.5mm lead, and it is quite tough to find good quality lead that has ample dark graphite and doesn't break easily whilst drawing/writing. I would definitely suggest the 0.7mm model, if it is available.

Superb pencil.. Finishing issues
This 'Made in Japan' mechanical pencil is one of the best I've used so far. It is very well made with a comfortable grip. Adding to its appeal is the Kuru Toga mechanism in orange which shows its functioning through the transparent section of the barrel. The retracting mechanism is also sturdy and the clicks are firm and smooth. Was a little disappointed though in the one I received due to flaws in the finishing. A number of small scratches were present in one section of the barrel and the blue colour was not uniform across the barrel, transitioning from a very dark purplish blue to ultramarine.Although this pencil is almost as expensive as Rotring and Lamy, the mechanism alone makes it worth the buy as this allows the lead to wear evenly through and also prevents the lead from breaking easily.Definitely worth considering if one regularly uses pencils for work and study.

Note/sketch taking pencil
Serves well for note taking purpose or to highlight/mark in your books. Artists might enjoy sketching with it too.Needs bit of pressure while writing for the mechanism to work. For darker shades and lead strength, get pentel ain stein leads or uni leads or rotring leads. Cheaper leads tend to break or write lighter.Plastic body seems bit delicate so use caution while using it. Lead sleeve has a cushioned feel like the rest of uni variants. Not good for cursive writing as lead wears down unevenly. Works well for people who don't connect their letters while writing. As it is a product of japan, it was built for their language which have multiple, seperate, clean strokes allowing the lead to rotate.Feels sharp and thin on cheap paper while making notes. It does feel better on higher gsm paper or more premium paper.

Best mechanical pencil I’ve owned!
Buy this pencil! If you are in need of a solid pencil along with replacement leads that won’t break the bank but will also be good enough quality to last, buy this! I like that the lead rotates and remains sharp; the lead doesn’t break as easily—it stays put; and it is comfortable in the hand. I use this pencil to write Japanese and Chinese (I do recommend anyone who does write these languages to buy this pencil. The fine point makes it easier to write neatly and in detail!)

Unique pencil pin
Not as great as I thought it would be. The lead breaks off too easily..

Short term owner
As someone who has used different types of technical pens for drafting and technical papers, I really like this one. It's quite smooth to use and keeps a very consistent line width due to the revolving mechanism. The writing output alone is worth the price. Other reviews state that these things last for years and having owned other Japanese writing pens, I'm inclined to believe it.
