How do I pack the shelves when moving house, or do they have to be completely dismantled to avoid it breaking/damage?

If it were me,I would first remove all the little horizontal shelves & pack them separately wrapped in bundles in towels or other padding,to protect them.The main structure I would protect by first buying two cut-to-size pieces of 2cm thick rough plywood/mdf-board big enough to completely cover both the back of the bookcase & also the front of the bookcase.First I would lay a thick duvet on the floor, then lay your first protective board on the duvet, then lay bookcase FRONT-face-UP onto the board.Then lay another duvet on top of the shelves,being careful to wrap it also around & over the bottom base of the bookcase,as that base is probably the most vulnerable part.I would then add extra duvet-padding on the front of the bookcase,to bring up the level of padding to reach the outer level of the padded sticking-out base.I would then lay the second big protective board on top.The duvet you first laid on the floor can then be folded up around all 4 edges,& you can ease some strong tying-cords under that bottom duvet & pull the cords across to tie together across the whole parcel.This idea would aim to protect both the the vulnerable base,& also the middle part of the bookcase where the top half & bottom half are joined,as that is the other vulnerable part in my opinion.Speaking for myself,I'd rather try this idea than dismantle the whole bookcase,as I don't even know if those strange locking-bolts do unscrew or not.Good luck, whichever you decide to do.All best wishes

How many dvd does it hold.

Depends on how you want to layout the shelfs and you can configure almost anyway you wish, but in its pure DVD arrangement approx. 350 DVD's will fit easily.

Can someone enter dimensions for the unit height, width and length please

Hi - the unit is 101.5 cm wide, and 146.5 cm high. The depth, front to back, is 16 cm (the interior space of the shelves a little less than that, but perfect for paperbacks and DVDs); the flat base piece, however, is 24 cm depth, front to back, as this gives a bigger base, for stability, so the base piece extends outwards along the floor by 8 cm from the very bottom (base) shelf. WONDERFUL shelves!!!!

Would this hold a book collection

These storage shelves have a depth (measured from front of shelf to back of shelf) of 14.5 cm [equal to five & three-quarter inches] so they are brilliant for books which are normal-size paperback books & also the slightly bigger-style paperback books, & small-depth hardback books. Wonderfully strong shelves, & you can adjust the height of space between the shelves. I bought them specially for books, and they hold lots of books :-)
