It helps!
Got this to help our older cat and it worked really well! However it does stain carpet if there’s hairballs and your skin if it gets on you. Other reviews complained about the smell of it and I think it smells like a normal cat licking treat. Will be purchasing again!

Where Do I Begin?
Let's see where do I begin? The box came smashed. I opened the little packet & immediately gagged from the most pungent oder I've ever smelled. The packets are not easy to open, so I used scissors. My cats wanted ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with it. They took one smell & ran. I tried adding it to food & they refused to eat it. And, when I tell you it stains your skin, I am not exaggerating. My fingers were were stained this greasy orange color for 2 days, even after a good scrubbing. The consistency of this stuff is like motor oil & yams had a baby. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH how disappointed I am. I just knew I'd found the solution to my cats allergy. No bueno. Buyer beware.

Might be great, if easier to get into a cat
I bought this for my one cat who's recovering from some skin allergies that left him itching, hoping it would help with the process of his over-scratched/groomed skin healing and as his fur grows back in. The scent is apparently appealing enough, as he tried it right away (and the other cat was also very interested, but that one would eat literally anything) and took a few licks, so it seems the flavor is fine too. However, he was soon licking his chops, apparently bothered by the greasiness.I tried dabbing some of the remainder onto his paw, but it's too thick to easily dab on and just fell off, leaving me with an oily yellow stain to clean off my floor (because yes, this includes turmeric as an ingredient, so take care anywhere that's not a non-porous hard floor!).I will see if it goes down better mixed in his food, but for the price (for quite small packets-- think barely bigger than a sugar packet) it should be designed better for delivery and palatability. The main ingredient is fish oil, and I can buy a much larger bottle of fish oil formulated for pets, for the same price, and incorporate that into their food more easily. Will be passing on purchasing any more of this.

Effective if your cat will eat it
5 stars for Elmer who likes it, minus a star for Stella who won’t touch it with a 10 foot pole. Elmer had skin issues on his ears and tail (bumpy, flaky dry patches, loss of fur) but now his coat is healthy, sleek and gorgeous. One packet every day or two, within a couple weeks, world of difference! Yes it smells bad and stains. One needs to be careful about touching it when squeezing into a bowl. Open with scissors, use a spoon to mix with wet food and wash hands immediately after handling. Problem solved. It’s effective if you can get your cat to eat it. Some specialty stores carry individual packets. Maybe have your cat try one before committing to a box of them.

Licking
I love this product. Works perfect for my cat my MILs cat, and my mother's. It does stain if you get on your fingers but does come off. Doesn't smell great just mix it in with the food.

Cat got depressed
I bought this product because I thought my cat was having seasonal allergies which was causing him to overlick his fur off. The product did not smell good, nor would my cat eat it. I had to put it on his arm, which is fine as he licked it off ... some of the time. More often than not though, he flicked it off while running around the house after I put it on him. However, after a week of use, he got very depressed so I had to stop using the product. So I'd rate the product overall a 4/10. Not just because it wasn't useful for my pet, but because of the bad smell and that most of it ended up on the floor from being flung off the cat's arm AND because it made my cat depressed.**Monitor your cat's behavior to check for depression, it is on the box warning label too **Also the first box I ordered only had 8 packs in it, instead of 10. I contacted the shipper and got a correctly counted box without a problem. Took about 2-3 days. So customer service was great (10/10).-- PS My cat was actually overlicking due to the new a fragrance we bought for our house (a stronger scent than normal with wicks). So if it's not allergies that has your cat overlicking, try removing any new plug-ins or incense.

Stains everything!
My cat has itchy skin so I've been trying different products to see what helps. For the amount of packets you get, the price was a bit high. When I opened the first packet, oil spilled out. Every packet I opened had separated and I even when I tried to refridgerate it, it was still seperated. It stained the metal scissors, the plate I put it on, and the counter. The scissors are still stained and I had to use bleach on the plate and counter. It stained my fingers and fingernails as well. My cat was not interested in the product so I wiped it on her paw as suggested on the packet. Big mistake! She ended up wiping it on her blankets - which of course became stained. I ended up trying to give it to the outdoor cats I feed and they didn't want it either. If you are going to buy it, please be careful because it stains everything and make sure your cat likes strong smelling fish.

Smells awful, but actually worked!
My cat was suffering from seasonal allergies (dry skin in winter). She was scratching so much and so hard that she was tearing her poor face up. Scabs by her ears and nose, which just got worse the more she scratched. I took her to the vet and they confirmed no ear mites, infection, or any other problems besides potential allergy issues. They gave me a cone and said to leave it on until the scabs heal and then see if she still itched (took about 3 weeks). After she healed, within the same day of taking the cone off, she was already scratching herself raw. I was not looking forward to taking her to a special pet vet allergist, so I did some research and decided on this supplement as a last ditch, low cost effort. I read other reviews that said it took about a week of taking it before really kicking in. So I waited a week, took the cone off and voila! She's been taking it for almost 2 months straight now with no recurrence of violent scratching. Her coats is even softer than before! The smell is pretty bad but no worse than the wet food I feed her. I keep mine in the fridge and that helps with consistency and smell. Highly recommend to any desperate pet parent!!!
