How to Be Happy, Dammit: A Cynic's Guide to Spiritual Happiness
K**.
This is the one.
I have bought this book countless times to replace those I "lent" to the people around me who perhaps needed a lift. I don't begrudge them keeping the book -- it's the kind of book that one revisits. It contains the most striking tone of warmth and connection, kind and nonjudgmental, with lovely analogies and examples that make the message concrete. Beautiful formatting, too. It's a perfect book.

Phenomenal
This book is nothing short of phenomenal.Over the last few months, I went into probably the biggest phase of depression in my life. The hits kept coming (health, job, moving from a city I love, etc) and things just kept getting worse. I felt so isolated and alone. Despite being skeptical of self-help books in general, I decided I had to try something to snap out of it. The title alone sold me on this book, and the previous reviews encouraged me to stick it in the Amazon cart. Glad I did.Seriously, I knew I was going to enjoy this book by pg 14. (And for the record, that's probably less than 300 words). The build-up to Life Lesson #1 was a great way for me to get perspective on my current situation, and it only got better from there. There was a small section in the middle that I had difficulty resonating with, but just as I was beginning to think this book was getting beyond my interest, it sucked me back in and finished strong. It is a simplistic book, which certainly works for those who like me aren't big into self-help (or reading at all). Inevitability, you as a reader have to put the things learned from this book into motion, but it certainly gives you a much more positive perspective/outlook to move forward with. This is a book which I forsee myself reading at least once a year for the rest of my life.

Fun Help for People Who Aren't Into Self-Help
****This book is a fun, quick read for strangers to self-help---for those who don't like or read self-help books, or even for people who don't like to read at all.Although over 200 pages, it took me just an hour to read because of the engaging format---cool design, lots of pictures, and few (but well-chosen) words---all arranged in a way to make an impact. When you're done reading you'll feel like you have some new tools to move away from cynicism and the doldrums and negativity---and toward being happy!Recommended, especially for people you know who are not "into" self-help and personal growth. As such, it fills a unique niche.****

Repeat purchase several times now
I've been giving these away as gifts as I've met friends who were just having a hard time with getting back to it after covid or other life's hurdles. The series of books written was a life saver for myself.

Great Graduation Gift!
I admit that when I got this in the mail I was less than thrilled. It's not a long book and there are a lot of illustrations. But I'm glad I opened it. After a few pages I was hooked. And I recommend for everyone to read--all ages, all value systems, and even people who are already happy. Even if you don't agree with all the lessons, I think you'll find it delightful. It was surprisingly eye-opening and I've thought back to it and intend to re-read it. I wish I had gotten this book when I graduated high school or college.

Just ok
Humorous slant on life. Just not all that I was expecting. There are many books available and this is not one of my favorite.

A Little Gem... whether you are a cynic or not!
This is a little gem of a book! It's unlike your average 'self-help' book in that it's a very fast read, literally racing along so quickly that you barely have time to absorb the wisdom it offers (and most of it is extremely clever and visually appealing)... but then a strange thing happens... you find yourself going back over it, and absorbing it more and more. If you don't like hefty tomes but want something that works with lightening speed, whilst at the same time offering delightful hidden depths on how you can indeed be happy... dammit!... then this is definitely the book for you. I know I am going to be going back to this little treasure again and again!Maria McMahonDip. H.E. NLP/Hyp, BSc. (Psych)

Nachdenken, schmunzeln, laut lachen

The flow and style make me smile; the content is great.
I bought a pre-loved copy of this book. I don't know what I was expecting but, quite simply, this is brilliant. Really straightforward and humorous guidance mixing a variety of belief systems and approaches in a very quick read. Bright, colourful, and useful: what is there to not like, dammit?
