AntennaX Power Antenna Replacement Mast for Volvo S40

This antenna is really easy to replace. You do get greasy (from the old one and the grease you need to lube this new one). The only tools needed are a small crescent wrench to unscrew the small black cover and needle nose pliers to pull it off. You WILL need a second person for the process. Once the cover is off, grab the old antenna and turn on the ignition while pulling hard to yank out the old antenna. NOTE: notice which way the "teeth" of the old mast are facing; forward or backward, as these "teeth" have to catch on the antenna motor (inside the trunk wall). With the car on, feed the new antenna down the hole toward the motor. Have the 2nd person turn the car off. This will trigger the motor to pull the antenna down and reel it in. This process worked the very first time I tried!! I turned the car off and on a few more times just to test it out. Total fix time= 15 min. for a 45 yr old mom and 15 yr old daughter to start the car.

After reading the reviews here and looking at You Tube videos on how to install this antenna mast on a Volvo S40 I was skeptical about how easy this would be to install, or if it would work at all. Ordered this from Amazon at 7:10 PM on a Sunday with free Prime delivery and received it Monday around noon (Wow). It really was as easy to install as the instructions said.No need to even open the trunk just unscrew the nut at the bottom of the mast, have someone turn on the radio while you pull out the mast, make sure the plastic cable on the old unit is as long as the new one, transfer the nut removed from the old mast to he new mast, insert the cable into the open hole, have someone turn off the radio while feeding the cable. Then just tighten the nut and you are through - about 10 to 15 minutes in total. Works great!

This Power Antenna Mast-worked for my 2002 Volvo S40. For the price you can't go wrong. The antenna is about 1/2 inch short. This antenna goes up and down perfect, but when it goes down it goes a little deeper down. I hope living in Chicago that the antenna does not freeze when the car is off. When the antenna is up it looks great and it works great.

The media could not be loaded.  This product worked just as advertised. It required me to dismount the whole antenna device and open it up to be able to change the antenna rod. If you don't have the necessary experience to do this, please take it to a radio repair expert. It takes 30 minutes to do it. Has been working fine and just as the original one. Do lubricate the mechanism and rod to keep it moving freely.

It was too wide to be able to retract back into my car like the original one did. It does the job right now, but looks a little silly when I turn the car off and it doesn't go all the way down.

Happy I decided to purchase the antenna from amazon, instead of spending a fortune at Volvo. The antenna is a bit shorter than the original but still works the same!

Purchased this for a broken 2004 Volvo S240 sport coupe. It was a HUGE job that take the better part of the day. It does work however, and saved lots of money instead of going to a shop.

Had it installed a couple of weeks ago. It was correct for my car & works great. No more static.
