"WORRY DOLL LEGEND - There is a legend amongst the Highland Indian villages of Guatemala: "If you have a problem, then share it with a worry doll. Before going to bed, tell one worry to each doll, then place them beneath your pillow. Whilst you sleep, the dolls will take your worries away!" Maya Traditions is a fair-trade producer and wholesale business based in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala and San Francisco, California. For over ten years they have worked with Maya indigenous weavers in the highlands of Guatemala. Their mission is to support weaving groups and small family businesses through providing consistent income, as well as health and education projects.

Photos on website not what I received
The bag & dolls do not look like the photos on Amazon. My mother brought some from Guatemala when I was a child & all of the dolls had remarkable features & unique rustic clothing. I know handmade items are rustic which lends to the unique appeal. The 6 "dolls" I received have no face features in 5 & the "clothing" is thread wrapped around a matchstick that are unraveling. The bag & "dolls" also have a strong chemical odor. I wanted to surprise my daughter ( age 43) who played with my worry dolls when she was a child & tuck them inside of a Christmas gift as a surprise. Very disappointed.

nice little gift for a worrier
My very anxious son had a set of these when he was about 4 years old. He would put them on his nightstand or under his pillow to feel less worried about everything. He's now 21 years old so I decided to get him another set to be nostalgic. They are the same quality as his original set. They are so tiny that the quality isn't perfect. They are basically handmade dolls made by wrapped thread but they are all a little different and the idea/superstition/fable is sweet. NOT recommended for kids 3 or under - super tiny. Keep away from pets, too! Some don't have eyes but you can use a fine tip Sharpie if you really want to add eyes.

Perfect little gift
My Little is 10, and she worries a lot. She’s autistic, and an only child. Single kids tend to be in their own heads a lot anyway, but autism affects the way she processes stress and stimuli. Double whammy. I wanted a creative way to help her, and these (along with a few other things) were perfect. I put them in her Christmas stocking this year. The itty bitty dolls are super cute and well-made. They make a thoughtful gift for anyone of any age.

Don't Worry, Be Happy
Such a cool story! Tell your worries to these little dolls and they will worry in your place, leaving your mind free and easy.Does it work? Well, maybe. It depends on how much you want to believe. Perhaps it's just the action of venting my worries and giving voice to my fears, but it certainly seems to work for me.This product comes with several little dolls (little is an understatement; they're positively microscopic! But they are very pretty), a copy of the legend, and a beautiful woven bag for them to live in. This would make a great gift for that worrier in your life or as a colorful conversation piece on your desk at work.

Worried about the worry dolls
I don't know what I was expecting at this price. Some have arms, some don't. Strings coming off a couple. Some a little more effort was put in than on others. Wish I had bought the ones in the box. Can't imagine these lasting long going in and out a small bag every night by a child. Was hoping to get some for my daughter like I have from my childhood, still have 30 years later. Close but no.

I love my worry dolls!
These worry dolls are just like the ones from my childhood! My grandmother had a little box of worry dolls when I was a little girl. I loved to take them out and hold them in my hands. I always felt a deep connection to them! These ones are exactly the same as I remember! Well crafted and I love the colorful little bag they come in! I ordered one for each on my kids and a few to give as gifts!

Very colorful
These little dolls are adorable. My daughter suffers from anxiety so I bought these. She doesn’t do what they say w giving them your worries and putting them under your pillow, but she did love opening them and thought they were really cute. They do appear to be delicate.

Just what I expected
These are very inexpensive looking, tiny half-inch "dolls". One of the six was already slightly unraveled. But, who expects anything else for this price? I've seen (and previously purchased) other worry dolls in a little round cheap wood "basket", and I like these in the bag better. I even don't mind the damaged doll... I'm going to tell the recipient that she already wore one out just thinking about getting them!
