This unit does a nice job of switching HDMI inputs. I have three devices going into one TV. Both HDMI and Optical work fine, EXCEPT: when I turn off the attached devices (not this device; the remote has no button to turn it off) and then turn them back on, the picture comes back on the TV but the sound does not. I have to make a special effort with the sound bar’s remote to restore the sound. I didn’t have to do that with the Dish Hopper, the Blu-Ray, or the Amazon stick when they were connected to their respective HDMI and/or Optical inputs on the TV. So I’m putting up with this, but it is annoying and it doesn’t help with making things easier for my wife..Added note: this unit turns itself off about every two days. As mentioned earlier, the remote has to on/off button, so it makes me get up and manually turn it on. Another annoyance. Wish I’d saved the box; I’d return it.

The thing itself is very nice. Sleek design and very useful. However, before any of you buy it, you must all know that it can only mirror displays meaning that it cannot work with monitors to split the screens into two and have an extended display. It can only work as a switch to split within the hdmi inputs. If this is what you're looking for then this object is perfect for you.

Bought this one to split HDMI output from my computer to different projectors (3) and one monitor (same picture on all 4 of them) and it worked perfectly out of the box.
