SecureVIN Outside Mirror & Window VIN 18 Pt. Glass Etching Kit

My local police department recommended VIN window etching when I went in to report my license plates being stolen. Apparently VIN etching can be enough of a dissuader to keep people from stealing your car. I bought this kit and was extremely satisfied with the outcome! The kit is crafted to your specific vin number, comes with step-by-step instructions, gloves, and all the tools you could possibly need to make sure you have a good outcome. There was also a nice note inside from the seller. The whole process took me maybe 25 minutes (20 of those was just waiting for the etching cream to sit on the window and do it's job). It was super easy, super safe and very satisfying at the end! It's a great gift for ANYBODY with a car and I think I'll do this for stocking stuffers at Christmas. Thank you Blue Planet Security! :)

Great VIN kit that is easy to use if you follow the instructions.

I had used this product on my old vehicle about 6 years ago and I was very happy about it. That's why I ordered this product again on my brand new vehicle. From last time, I got like 8 stencils in one package. Now it only comes with 2 and I have to pay with shipping again. PThe point is it will take like 30 mins (with most of the time is waiting) to do 2 windows (with 2 stencils). I need to do at least 6 windows (front, rear, and 4 side windows). That is an hour and half. If I have extra stencils, I can do all of them at the same time as I did with my old vehicle. As it stated the stencils are expensive and can be reusable hoping the characters will not be separated, I would prefer the product comes with extra stencils. Or you can have options of how many stencils you can order from Amazon. I am considering to return the product.

Applied the stencils and it looks fine, not too large so its not distracting on your car. However, I got two stencils which might’ve been okay if other reviewers didn’t seem to get such varied amounts in their kits.

Really great quality etching. I was lucky enough to receive 3 stencils in my kit but I only needed to use one. I find that peeling off the stencil slowly will preserve its integrity. Everything I needed came in the box, even a paper clip to fix the stencils connecting pieces should they break. And the piece of candy, icing on the cake. Sadly I was not able to etch the side mirrors. The etching process was exactly how I did the windows, but when it came time to clean the mirror, the vin number came off with it. Maybe I have special mirrors, I don’t know. Because of that, it loses 1 star. Edit: I contacted the company and they informed me that it will not work on plastic. After digging around, i found out my side mirrors are in fact plastic. I am changing my review back to 5 stars as the product works exactly as advertised. Just make sure you're not using it on plastic!

I started with the passenger rear window just in case I messed it up. I found out that it works best if you use the brush and just dab the etching cream on. When I first put the stencil on I used the backing of it to place on top and rubbed it on the glass smooth. That way I didn't risk pulling up any of the numbers/letters with my finger and it kept the glass clean. I found that if you pull the stencil off from the top/bottom instead of the end there's less of a chance of pulling any of the numbers/letters off. Make sure that you do this on a cool window. I did one on a window that had been in the sun and it wasn't as easy as the cool window. I used both stencils on 10 windows/mirrors and the last one looks as good as the first one. I had plenty of etching cream. I'm very happy with this product. I might do it on my nephews new Jeep too!

EXCELLENT PRODUCT. VIN etching was new to me, so I was nervous about the process. But I needed it for a lower insurance rate and I wasn't willing to pay a professional to do it. This kit comes with everything that you need and simple instructions for you to follow. My VIN etching came out great. Would definitely recommend.

Easy to use. I was able to do eight windows in all with one kit. Keep in mind the by the six window the numbers were not as sharp
