Vanilla Red Coins
These cherry, gummy coins were very good, and almost like I remember. The ones I remember from my childhood were the Heide brand. They had that name on them. I believe Heide was later bought by Farley, but all that is another whole story. Anyway, the ones from my childhood had a definite vanilla flavor to them. They were called red hot dollars, but had no hotness whatsoever in their taste. Later, about ten years ago, as a matter of fact, I found the exact flavor from my childhood, in what they called red raspberry dollars. Well, maybe they did have a raspberry flavor, some, but I’m sticking to my memory of the vanilla flavor. The Heide ones weren’t as soft as these and they stuck to your teeth a lot more than these, which was desirable, we were kids, right? Well, these have a cherry almost vanilla flavor to them and as long as you remember I said almost, you should be fairly pleased with them. They’re as close as I can get to what I remember.Otherwise, just get some Bonomo Vanilla Taffy.

Not the same texture as those from earlier years. I would not buy these again.

Taste good lok like a mess.
Taste and texture are 5 star soft and great cherry flavor. Appearance is 1 star. Some coins are torn up, some shapeless blobs, a lot are missing the image on the coin. If you just want them to eat they are fine. I wanted them for a Christmas party and appearance was important. I have spent less elsewhere and got much netter appearing coins.update: I contacted the seller who apologized and sent a new bag that both look and taste great.

Don’t taste the same
These do not taste the same as I remember. I won’t buy again

Too soft
They taste good, but are far too soft. I’ll try and leave them out for a few weeks and maybe they will dry out.

Blast from the past
These are my favorite candy from my childhood, and impossible to find at any local store. I was thrilled to find them here, on Amazon. They are delicious! Soft, chewy, and exactly as I remember them. YUM!

Yum!!
Softer than I expected. They weren’t really chewy like gum drops. Had a good flavor and were easy to eat. Yum!!
