Fits Vintage D-Frame Colts Perfectly
I bought the large and the small versions of these Pachmayr grips for a Colt Detective Special, manufactured circa 1976, and a Colt Cobra, made in 1969 or thereabouts. (Not to be confused with the new version also called Cobra, which I do not believe will accommodate these grips.) Both have identical grip frames. The original checkered wood grips are beautiful but recoil is punishing. These replacement grips not only tame the felt recoil but also keep your hand from riding up the grip when the barrel flip forces the rear of the revolver down.Installation took less than five minutes. The only thing to remember is that the nut comes attached to the screw supplied with the grips and you need to first detach it, nest it in the hole on the right-side grip, and then thread the screw through from the left. It's not like the screw on the old version where the threads go directly into receiving threads on the right-side grip. Fit the nut into the indentation first; tighten the screw until the gap in front closes (the Pachmayr grip is one-piece and closes around the frame like a clamshell) and you're good to go.

Typical Pachmayr improvement over stock grip
Purchased for use on a Rock Island M206. Fits pretty well, gap on the front strap that isn't annoying - probably a few more turns on the screw will make that gap smaller, or some judicious trimming on the inside. Love how it improves the handling of the gun, and is grippy enough to handle well without being too rubbery and catching on everything. One other note, and it may be specific to the M206, but regular speed loaders don't work well with this grip, getting caught when inserting rounds. I went with speed strips for reloads.

Works for RIA M206
I bought this to replace the grips on an Armscor Rock Island Armory M206. It fits, but imperfectly--as other reviewers have pointed out, there is a thin gap or seam when you put it on the gun.The grip feels great, though, and while I wish it fit perfectly, it's a pretty close and pretty good fit considering it was made for a different (and much higher priced) gun than the one I'm using it on.Dry fire has been much more comfortable with this grip than with either the wood or the plastic grips that came with the revolver. Strongly recommend for the M206, with the caveat that there will be a thin little gap.

Colt Agent Revived
I inherited a 1966 Colt Agent that was my mom’s. The original wood grips were loose so I tightened them up. All that was wrong with it because my mom took great care of it. I took it shooting and the wood grips loosened up again. Decided to look for a grip for it and keep the wood grips in my gun safe. Found this grip and ordered it. When it arrived I put it on and wow what a difference. The gun felt good in the hand with the wood grips but it feels excellent in the hand with this grip. Also adds just a little bit of heft which actually makes the gun feel better. Does not interfere with speedloaders or ejection of spent rounds. Definitely worth it

Good grip for a Colt Detective Special
I inherited a 1975 Colt Detective Special. It was in good shape, but the stock wood grip was cracked. This was a nice replacement and it definitely gives a better grip than the original wood.

Be very carful.
I purchesed these grips for my Colt DS. The fit was OK. I had to over tighten them to keep them from wobbling around on the pistol. The over tightend screw resulted in the screw protruding from the left side of the grip. I contacted the manufacturer pachmayr/Laman and asked for a smaler screw or better solution. Custermer service told me to go to the hardware store and look for a better fitting screw. I found this to be insulting.
