Working in Real old a/c engine
I use it in a Piper Warrior Lycoming engine that sat for over 40 years - 195 hours total on engine and a/c. Got it running and have about 500 hours now.

Aircraft engine longevity & storage
I purchased a used Cessna plane that was using this additive at every oil change; I continued practice using additive every oil change of 25 hours service / run time. Engine is turbocharged requiring oil changes every 25 hours per manufacturer. My A&P advised during last oil change he had heard from two engine rebuilders of aircraft engines finding issues with stuck valves, stuck piston rings, etc. thus he was no longer recommending use of CamGuard based upon input from engine rebuilders he trusted. A&P stated decision to continue use of CamGuard would be up to me. I opted to use CamGuard this last oil change but will due diligence with aircraft engine rebuilders to obtain factual current updates regards sticky engine components realizing not everyone changes oil at 25 hours service time.

Seems Great --- Won't Know for Sure for Years!
The big thing to know about this product is that it appears to have a foaming agent. Actually, for all I know, the foaming agent is what this product is about. I just had my 0-200 rebuilt, so I want to really take of it. The plane can sit for months. It would appear that the foaming agent makes more of the oil remain on the camshaft and other internally exposed parts. Whatever, the thing you will notice right away is that instead of a a few drops of normal looking oil draining from your oil breather tube after a flight, there will be a small 'pile' of foam on your drip pan. The foam on the drip pan stays as foam, which would indicate that the stuff is doing what it's supposed to do. I use one ounce per quart. I like the theory that I've come up with. Too bad the lawyers keep the vendor from speaking in the above terms. Take someone young for a ride in your plane!

Works well, as far as I can tell
I've not had to have any service on the engine (Continental C-65) and don't want to either, but the old mechanic who does my annual says he is happy with those engines he's had to open up for other reasons. Just too hard to run the Champ in the winter as much as I used to, so having this in the oil is reassuring.
