Hisonic HS122B-HL Rechargeable & Portable PA (Public Address) System with Built-in Dual UHF Wireless Microphones (1 Handheld + 1 Belt-Pack)

I am a real estate trainer and hold seminars around the country. I speak mainly in large real estate office training rooms or in medium sized hotel conference rooms. My class is a 3 hour PowerPoint presentation (with tons of interaction) and we generally have an audience of about 40 to 100+ attendees. I've done 33 live events over the past 10 months using this unit. It is a true CHAMP.I purchased this unit because I firmly believe that great audio is an essential component of a great seminar. Being heard loud and clear is so important to the reception of the event, and also allows you to speak in a normal voice with effortless ease. Attendees really appreciate it.I got tired of relying on house systems and showing up to find that the hotel or training room didn't have a lavalier/lapel mic setup - or that the audio system is down altogether.I use both hands a lot when I speak so a lavalier mic is a MUST for me. I've done a few events using a handheld mic - and although the audio is generally richer (because you can hold the mic closer to your mouth) the trade-off of having just one hand and speaking with a bent elbow for 3 hours is just not worth it.I originally tried using the Audio2000 AWM-6032UL - which is awesome but requires me to also pack a separate amplifier. The setup time was cut in half with this unit.This unit is an absolute Godsend. I love, love, LOVE it!! In fact just last week I arrived at an event in Baltimore to find the sound guy frantically trying to piece together the house sound for the event. It just wasn't working and showed no signs that it would be working anytime soon. When I pulled out my trusty Hisonic he was absolutely blown away. I received a high-five and a bear hug. He had never had a speaker show up with their own sound.For more than 5 years I spoke at events and have learned that I can NOT afford to rely on house audio. No matter where I travel I will always take this unit with me - even if they say they provide audio. Of course I actually prefer great 'house audio' with a lavalier mic system and will use prefer it over the Hisonic when I have the choice (and it doesn't cost extra). When the house audio is awesome, this system makes an invaluable backup and helps me rest at ease.This unit also keeps me from having to RENT sound equipment at the ridiculous prices that many hotels charge. I also really like having both the handheld and lavalier (which work simultaneously)! The handheld is great for audience participation as I can pass around the handheld mic and have my students ask questions with the benefit of being heard by all.In smaller rooms (50 or less people) I usually place the unit in the front of the room. For larger rooms of more than 50, I will often place the unit in the back of the room facing me. So far I have had ZERO problems with it and it travels well - even in my carry-on. The only issue with having it in your carry-on bag is that airport security will almost always want to have you pull it out and pull you aside to scan it separately – so I recommend you run it through the security conveyer belt by itself. Apparently it looks pretty suspicious when it runs through the x-ray. Pulling it out of your carrying and running it separately is not really an issue because it comes with its own carrying case with strap.This unit also has inputs for my iPod/laptop (playing music before the event) and an output (plug in and record audio to a digital recorder).This puppy is rechargeable so I don't even have to rely on power!!! I also like that it comes with a rechargeable 9 volt battery for the mic (which actually charges along with the unit itself). A word of caution - you have to remember to CHARGE the unit fully before you are going to use it (I do it the night before). It actually works fine plugged in as well, but if the 9 V rechargeable battery (included with the unit) is not charged and you don't have a backup battery you won't be able to use the microphone! I just wish the unit had the option to charge two 9V batteries at a time. Would come in handy when I use both mics at an event.This unit is an absolute MUST HAVE for any public speaker. I am strongly considering purchasing another one for when this one craps out - just in case the company stops making them!

Cheap and effective.. love that it has both mic types..

We've only had this for a few months, so fingers crossed at this point that it does not develop problems long term as others have reported. Otherwise, it's worked perfectly for our needs. Nice to have something that you charge, turn on, and it just works.As background, we use it for our Kiwanis weekly meetings. We meet in a restaurant that has a bar on the other side of a railing with no wall. The restaurant area is probably around 1600 sp ft and the bar is maybe around 1000 sq ft. I mention the bar because while we meet at 7:30am in the restaurant portion, others are often in the bar having conversations (it's all part of a golf course clubhouse). Sometimes those other groups can be noisy. Additionally, some of our older members are hard of hearing. We point the speaker away from the bar, at the back of the room so it helps us hear our presenters without disturbing the folks in the bar.Another test will come next March when we hold our pancake breakfast. This is held in a middle school auditorium. Of course lots of folks sitting around the room chatting. We'll see how well it works in that situation. Fingers crossed, but won't hold my breath.Just to reiterate, so far this unit has been just what the doctor ordered.

Plan to use it today for the first time for a fishing tournament so can not actually speak to quality of usage...BUT, bought it while in Iowa and never really unpacked til this week in south Texas and when it said dual mics, I assumed it meant you could use two at one time..not true..only one..the directions kind of address this with some wording to the effect...this unit has the capacity for only one mic at a time..actually have considered returning it but needed it now.The instructions are not very well written. I have no expertise in buying this type of unit and had called a performer friend and he suggested to be sure it had two mics. Not sure how to proceed but will probably just keep it, but disappointed. Relieved that my i-Pod does connect.

I recently purchased this system for my work. I'm a dog trainer, and yelling instructions over dogs and multiple fans all day long had destroyed my voice. The lapel mic is OK, but I find it doesn't pick up my voice if I don't speak at a downward angle, and if I turn up the sensitivity, I get too much feedback from the speaker. The headset mic is all I use now - I was totally embarrassed to rock a Britney mic in class, but quickly got over it. As long as I position it slightly to the side, it picks up my voice very well, doesn't pick up my breathing sounds, and I can focus on teaching vs where I'm talking to. Overall the sound is good, and the system is easy to use. I wish I had purchased a multiple-speaker unit, but this one was much more in my price range. I would recommend it to others :)

I am a third grade teacher and always struggle at the beginning of the year with tiring out my voice. I finally purchased something that helps! I got this unit and have used it just 4 days and it is a life saver. It has great range. I could be down the hallway and my students could still hear me. I was down the hall and around a corner, and my students still heard me. The lapel mike doesn't pick up as good as the over the head piece so I have used that. My students and coworkers joke that I look like I work at a drive thru but I don't care. It works!!!

If you need a portable PA system, this is the one you want. Very reliable.
