Love my beach cruiser; UPS/Amazon CS failed on this one though!
I was so excited to get my bike. I almost bought from the manufacturer's website so I could customize it, but was able to easily do that by adding my accessories on Amazon. It was a steal! I'm not a bike person, haven't ridden one in years until I got this, and so the single speed is lovely for cruising around town or the beach.I did separately rate the shipping/delivery, but it's important to include in my review bc this is really ridiculous/time consuming. First, UPS delivered my beach cruiser (packaging doesn't hide what's inside) to my house at 11:30PM. They didn't knock, didn't even sent their usual text alert (that came the next day) & had I not happened to check the tracking before falling asleep, my bike would've been outside all night, and probably well in to the next day as I don't regularly go in/out the front door. Note: it was initially scheduled between 11:30-3:30 for afternoon delivery. Then it said end of day, 8:00. Not nearly midnight! Had it been stolen, I would've been livid w ups for their stupidity. (It's an ongoing theme.)Secondly, my bike arrived with a dented fender. The box said to contact UPS as they were the shipping company & Amazon initially said the same. UPS in turn said I had to call Amazon because it was from them. I finally got the right person at Amazon. Unfortunately, in order to 'fix' the fender, they wanted me to have the bike dismantled & shipped back.'That makes absolutely no sense,' was my reply. It's a fairly small part. They sell them could I send them the dented fender (I'd already given pictures) and have them send me a new one? There was nothing wrong with my bike—just the cosmetic issue.Nope. They wouldn't budge. Keep in mind, this back & forth occurred over several days. Finally, I called Firmstrong. To my amazement, THEY were the ones who instantly apologized for my drawn out issue with UPS & Amazon. Guess what? They sent me my new, in-perfect-condition fender completely free of charge. I was SO impressed with their response. It says a lot about them as a company. I had expected to pay for something, so this was genuinely so nice & it made the experience so much more pleasant. Claire was the rep. I spoke with & I cannot say enough about how kind she was. In the end, guess which company will get my future business, even if it costs a bit more... Yep! Firmstrong. In the end, this review is about the bike itself & I couldn't be more pleased. It's so cute and it actually serves my height & long legs well. I'm 5'9" for the record, but my legs comprise most of that. It's comfortable to ride & also super smooth. If you're riding a beach cruiser, chances are you're not planning to become a pro biker. While 3 gears may help with incline, I can easily maneuver a fairly steep driveway with the single speed. I don't do any mountain biking & my rides tend to be about 3-7 miles on average. I'm very happy with the Lady Chief. Highly recommended to the taller gals like myself.

Very nice, solid bike
Very nice, solid bike. I sent mine back as I had problems with the middle bar being too high and turned out not to be overly fond of the V-brakes [though bike shop could have tidied that up for me if it turned out to be more of a fit for me]. The seat had a slight defect as well, but otherwise...it mostly came down to the middle bar. Being 5'9, I could easily swing leg over the back fender and seat to where I needed to be. But I could tell the seat was going to have to be raised quite a bit [as my legs were very cramped on peddles at the height I could step over], and just decided I best get a step through that would be easier on my knees [had surgery awhile back, just not steadiest in some regards].I loved it otherwise, I recommend it to 'most' anyone. They package it well, most the backside is all ready assembled...so it comes down to greasing up the joints, oily rag on bolts and adding/adjusting seat, handlebar, front wheel/fender. If you have some mechanic skills with bikes, should be a breeze to put together. I had little skills and got it up and going well with a little help from biking/triking buddy, other than the brakes-which is where I would say they'd be tricky for a noobie like myself. I took it for one small spin [that didn't require braking of course :P], the gears shifted nicely and was very comfortable, other than being cramped. I do think it would be more suited for taller people, but I'm no expert there. I know my knees hindered me a lot, so maybe a shorter person would find it easy to get on like I did with a lower seat-when the back end/seat is fairly low to the ground. The color is very nice. It said purple on description and it showed black seat/handle bars, but I would describe it more as a deep burgundy and the seat/ handle bars were light brown. Still looked very sharp imo, but it comes down to personal preference of course.I did talk to amazon representative to assure it was ok to test bike, and would still be hassle free return if not right for me...zero problems and wanted to leave a review that the bike is good quality, just not a right fit for all. If possible, I would suggest going to a bike shop and test riding styles close to it, if you want to be sure. It's what I plan to do for my next attempt, so I don't make this mistake again [as it's still a lot of work to put together and not fun getting it out or back into the box].

Love this bike!
This is the first bike I have had in over 20 years and I just love it. I am a plus-sized, 5'9" gal with a 33" inseam and it fits me really well and is very comfortable. I chose this bike specifically because I was looking for a cruiser that would fit a taller person, had more than 3 speeds, didn't have coaster brakes and wouldn't break the bank. This fit the bill perfectly. The color is a deep reddish purple and the seat and grips are brown. It is a really sharp looking bike. It came packaged very well and my husband didn't have any troubles putting it together. We did take it to a bike shop to have everything looked over just to be safe and only a few minor adjustments were necessary. It is a bit heavier when compared to my husband's Specialized Roll but that is the only "negative" thing I can say and I'm not going to let that stop me from recommending this bike to anyone looking for a cruiser.

Disappointed that it's come damaged after paying so much for it.
Lovely bike, was really excited to start putting it together only to be disappointed to find it had a damaged mud guard and a big scrape on the lower left hand side support bar.

comfy ride
I really like this bike, I got it in teal in the 3-speed. Initially I purchased the 1-speed but took forever to ship, so I cancelled that and ordered the 3-speed (turned out to be cheaper and arrived promptly). It took a little while to assembly (just me doing it) but it all came together nicely. It comes mostly assembled, the rear wheel and main frame are attached, you will still need to attach handle bars, front wheel, seat and fenders. The instructions weren't the most detailed, but they are manageable. The bike itself is nice to ride, the seat is comfy. Takes a few tries to figure out the right height for the seat and the angle of the handlebars, but once you do you'll be cruising all over on this bike.I had a question regarding a noise I was hearing, contacted the seller directly and they responded promptly.I'm happy with my purchase, just wish I had made it a little earlier in the year so I could have enjoyed it more before the snow started flying. Looking forward to spring when I can ride it again.
