This stuff is awesome.
I bought three different colors from amazon and each has its own unique qualities. I have hypercolor twilight, super magnetic tital wave, and super illusions super oil slick. I think out of the three, the super illusions is my favorite to just play with and stare at. It's so fascinating and the constant shifting colors is fun. However, after a while, the super illusions causes my hands to feel sticky. I know it's not supposed to, but it does. It's been like that since I first got it out of the tin, with freshly washed and dried hands, so it's the putty doing it. The magnetic is fun to squish around some, too, but I enjoy just setting it down and letting it eat a magnet. It's fun to watch. You don't get as much magnetic putty per tin as the other colors, probably because it weighs more. Don't mix in your buckyballs/zen magnets. The little metal shards get pulled out by magnets and it's a pain to get them back off the zen magnets, since they scratch them up. It's easy to get the shards off bigger magnets. The hypercolor is my favorite to squish around when I need to concentrate (I have ADHD) because it isn't distracting and has a really good consistency to it. It also doesn't make my hands feel sticky. When I buy tins of these for my fellow grad student friends, I plan on getting the hypercolor varieties.

Fun for all ages
Love their products. So fun for all ages. Our fault, but my son will asleep holding it and it ruined his sheets and clothing. But we are buying more. My kids have all loved their putty for years.

Cool putty but a bit too stiff.
This putty is thicker or stiffer than other Crazy Aaron’s putties. They will smooth out completely after a few hours when left alone. However this magnetic putty keeps all the shaping and fingerprints even after several days. I’m sure this is what leads to other reviews complaints about it not being very magnetic. The included magnet is a good size and quite strong. You can feel it when you close the tin or move it near metal objects. The thickness of the putty just keeps it from moving very quickly. I don’t know if it’s the iron filings that make it so stiff, but if it was softer like their other putties it would react to the magnet better. Overall, it’s a good putty and I love the color. It just needs some improvement to make the magnetic feature more impressive.

I love Crazy Aarons putties.. this one is great
I've always found Crazy Aarons putties to be great. Their magnetic putty has enough ferrite in it that it can, one magnetizes, act itself like a magnet (many others cannot). The consistency of this blue is nice, thickish but after a bit of handling and warming up it is very pliable. If you like the magnetic putties, try experimenting with magnets near it. I placed 2 close together but in opposition and placed the putty on a piece of plastic on top. The results were that the putty separated in the middle and migrated to opposite sides. Dear Crazy Aaron: can I buy in bulk ;)

It’s not a magnet. It is slightly ferrous.
It’s regular putty with iron filings mixed in. I kept breaking stress balls and they’d make a huge mess. Likewise, this is not something you want around fabric, it will ruin your clothes, sofa, sheets, etc. I keep it at my desk at work for stress relief. It’s very underwhelming as a “magnetic” putty. It’s only slightly ferrous. It is also a bit messier than Aaron’s other puttys. Turns my fingers blue. Tiny tins are next to impossible to open, only the big tins are reasonable to open.

junk does not work dont believe other reviews
after giving this as a gift and watching them open it i immediately wanted to see it in action - well, there is no action... the putty is SLIGHTLY magnetic and the magnet that comes with it does nothing when held next to it - you can tell that there is a pull happening but it is NOT NEAR enough for it to actually pull the putty like the supposed "snake charmer trick" that was on the inside of the box (instead of any instructions on how to maybe get the putty to actually work) i could not get the putty to move AT ALL with the magnet provided or with a larger one i had on the fridge - what a joke and waste of money you want to know why people dont buy american anymore? because companies like this sell overpriced junk that doesnt work and get away with it - shame on you aaron and your stupid putty very disappointed and so was the person i got it for
