Modern Witch Tarot Cards – 19 Nov. 2019

A classic Rider-Waite-Smith at its core, but with a fresh, modern twist to the artwork. The cardstock is sturdy and built to last. My only gripe is the box design, it opens from the bottom, so you have to be careful or the cards might slip out. While the packaging could be improved, the quality of the cards themselves is excellent. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a contemporary take on the traditional RwS!

I was looking for a modern set of cards for meditative purposes ie not oracular cards, just the standard major and minor arcana to use as a focus to think about whatever issue crops up in a day. The images had to be nothing too woo-woo & really not too much cultural appropriation or twee.These are a modern re-interpretation, mostly images with women, some non-binary images but all very clean and simple illustrations making them relatively easy to read without too much reference.They are slightly too large for my hands to shuffle easily, but they feel constructively neutral with decent thick card and backing.I ordered three sets, unable to make a choice online and happy to offer the others as a gift: these felt the cleanest.

I have quite a few Tarot Packs and favour the Pamela Coleman Smith/Rider Waite as it gives good results. However, many packs are based on Coleman Smith’s style, as this Modern Witch Tarot is. It mainly features strong role model type of women and is fresh and youthful. I applaud the strong purposeful looking woman, as many Tarot woman are disappointingly weak, all white and ‘wafty’ Looking as though a puff of wind would annihilate them!A pleasure to use, although the little book seems way off the mark and I couldn’t make my mind up whether it was being humorous or not? You’d need to buy a few thorough books on Tarot if you are a beginner, although the pictures themselves might display their meaning to you, and this is the simplest and best way of understanding the cards.

I bought these cards because I loved the concept of diversifying an otherwise very white-dominated space and the illustrations on these cards are absolutely stunning. I also found the little guidebook super easy to understand and flick through if you want to clarify the meaning of the cards and look at the specific symbolism, but I wouldn't say it's the most comprehensive guide. My only other criticism would be is the cards are difficult to shuffle due to their size - this isn't too much of a problem for me because I just shuffle them on a table rather than in my hands but it's something to be noted. For me, these cards are more for admiring than using every single day - but I still enjoy them a lot and don't regret buying them!

Beautiful deck. I love the designs and have never resonated with a deck so much, it is based of the rider Waite tarot so it is perfect for beginners. The only possible inconvenience (you get used to it quite quickly) is the cards are super thick and can be difficult to shuffle at once but you can just split it in half and shuffle it separately. Other than that it is super beautiful and the box is adorable and the attention to detail is amazing. I love the drawings and would totally buy from this creator if the were to ever create a new deck.

I love this deck! The card stock is excellent and has a real glossy feel. The box is compact and easy to store. The little book included gives some cute insights to the cards if you aren’t a confident reader. The colours and imagery are a fresh and modern interpretation or the rider waite, so again make it a really easy to read deck. It’s a very powerful fem deck, full of girl power - which I totally love and I love the diversity of characters. I find it gives really sassy, honest readings.

After being duped by a counterfeit deck I bought the real thing and I couldn't be happier! Yes, the cards are slightly to thick to shuffle but its not impossible! Don't let that put you off buying these cards! I also bought the colouring book and journal today because I was so impressed with the deck. The only design flaw for me is how the box closes. It slides out from the bottom meaning that if you pick the box up without supporting the bottom the cards could easily fall out. Other than that im one happy witch!

got this deck sometime in january after many months of contemplating if i should get a deck and honestly im so happy i got one and especially this one. the cards are detailed, easy to read and very colourful and vibrant which makes it easy for beginners to get the hang of the meanings (as now i dont have to use the guidebook much throughout readings). the guidebook is detailed and describes the meanings very well but also keeps it somewhat simple. the only thing that isn’t mentioned in the guidebook is the meanings of the cards when reversed. i have given this 4 stars as some cards have slight tears on the edges (2nd photo) but it is somewhat expected after using them for a while and only some have this which happens after using them a lot. Overall im pleased with this deck and when they arrived they were in really good condition but i’d also recommend this deck if youre a beginner and want to get into tarot (which i was in the same situation not that long ago) :)
