broken punch
I received my CS Osbourne oblong punch on time. after first examination I noticed the punch was not sharp at all, but decided to try it anyway, since that was how it was made. the punch cracked on both sides of the punch on the second use. I contacted the seller (weaver leathercraft) and I have not received a return email yet. It has been 4 days. I only hope they resolve this issue, but it is not looking good so far.

Sturdy and well made.
Very well made. This is my second Osborne oblong punch, just a different size. My only complaint is - for the money, can’t C.S. Osborne hire someone who knows how to sharpen these punches? They arrive well packaged but really lacking on sharpness. I’m glad I can sharpen them because I love the tool. Fits well in my large hands and have lots of metal to them. Ergonomically very comfortable and easy to use. Please, sharpen the darn things.I will continue to buy these because they are worth it.

Choose another seller
The punch worked decent enough at first. However I think I received one with a weld defect because after a short time of using it correctly, the handle snapped off of the punch. I’ve contacted the seller three times and they have never responded. I would buy this punch from a more reputable seller.

Well made but dull
Sturdy heavy well made punch. Looked as if they had taken a rough grinding wheel briefly to the edge of this to “sharpen” it but it was nothing even in the ballpark of sharp! Very disappointed. I Put a lot of time on a water sharpening wheel and a leather strop and finally it’s pretty sharp. I got a big wooden 2lb mallet and can punch through 4 ounce veg tan leather in about 4 blows now. Before I sharpened after 15 blows it was not even 1/2 way cut through.

Not what they used to be!!!!
I've had cheap bag punches from Tandy that had better grinds on them than this punch. Very dull right out of the box. For a company that professes to make the finest leather tools, using the highest standards of quality, the one I got looks more like a cheap Chinese knock off. I will not be buying any more tools from Osborne if this is the quality I can expect!

C.S. Osborne Bag/Oblong Punch Tool 7/8 inch
I received my CS Osbourne oblong punch on time. At my first examination I noticed the punch was not sharp at all, but decided to try it anyway, since it was a top of the line tool made by C.S. Osborn. I tried to use it on a 9 oz belt I was making, it wouldn't even cut it. It only made an indention. It is more dull then a butter knife. I'm very unsatisfied!! And deeply disappointed in this purchase since it was a C.S. Osborn Tool.

Disappointingly dull
This came extremely dull like I read all of the other comments and figured those people were spoiled with good tools you are far better off buying the junkie Chinese oblong punch kits. This couldn't cut 4-5 oz. And the tool itself looks rough cut and hand made on a grinde which would be awesome if the cutting edge had an angle. For the price disapointed wish I just got the every size kit since I'll be sharpening anyway.

Bag Punch was not sharp at all
This is pretty useless until you take the time to actually sharpen the punch. The inside shape of the punch makes getting a stone inside impossible. (Unless you buy a C.S. Osborne sharpening strip). Luckily I had several different shaped sharpening stones and a couple of hours of quality time that I apparently did not need-so I spent it sharpening this thing. While C.S. Osborne tools are known for their quality, this tool was far less than desirable.
