Bosch DSBE1012 12 In. Daredevil® Spade Bit Extension

Use this with a 7/8" auger boring in 18" on mostly dried Red Cedar, worked perfect, bit locked in tight!

Name brand, high quality, its universal fits 1/4 shank.

I purchased this due to the amazing deal Amazon was offering at the time for six dollars. I had hoped it would also be large enough to fix the larger hex shanks on circle hole cutters however it is not. This will however fix your paddle bits, any standard hex bits for drilling. Still a great addition to the toolbox and glad I picked one up. Very sturdy steel, made by Bosch so can’t be all that bad, right?

This was awesome and I tested the hell out of it... I used forstner bits to bore into maple trees and fir beams, probably 15" per hole and maybe 24 holes I used curtain rod as dowels to secure my treehouse to its foundation 20' in the air in a maple cluster I benched off high. One little trick you might not think to try, I modified one of my round drill bit tails with a small dimple to grab the set screw so that I would not lose it deep in a hole and it would bite better. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Pooely made

I put 3 of them together to drill a hole through rafters in the ceiling to run wires. Worked very well. It connects to a bit with 2 set screws that are tightened by an allen wrench. Also used it as an extension for nut drivers with my drill for working on the car. Only problem I had was that I lost a set screw. They are available at a good hardware store. The connecting end is a relatively small diameter. Some of the others I looked at were quite a bit wider. They worked well for me and I expect that I will use them many times.

The bar isn’t straight, so not good for accurate drilling. Which was the reason for buying a fixed extension bit. I ended up using my quick release version, at least it’s straight. Waste of money :(

Does exactly what it says on the tin. "Its a Bosch" and is definitely fit for the purpose intended. I had recently acquired both the Metric and Imperial sets of the Bosch Daredevil Spade bits and this extention gives the user an unrivalled depth of hole drilling ability. Highly recommended.
