Hush, Hush: Hush, Hush Trilogy, Book 1

Can't think of anything negative!
OK, who doesn't love a good angel book? Angels have been depicted in many different ways throughout history - they represent a side of almighty power that is not often represented in religious texts, therefore they hold a sort of mystical mystery for us. In Hush, Hush, Ms. Fitzpatrick gives angels a new twist - the idea of fallen angels, and what happens when they are cast out of heaven.Nora is a fairly average high school girl that most teenagers can relate to. Physically, she is not perfect, but she does work hard in school and aspires to go to a really good college upon graduating high school. Her best friend. Vee Sky, while not so great in the school department, has the sexy, adventurous appeal that helps to balance out Nora. One day, Nora's biology teacher decides to switch up the seating chart, so instead of finding herself sitting by Vee, she is suddenly thrown with the mysterious senior transfer student, Patch. Something never seems quite right with him, and that combined with mysterious, dangerous circumstances Nora seems to be finding herself in lately, she suspects there is more to Patch than meets the eye. Thus we, as the readers, are thrown into an electrifying story of mystery, suspense, and romance.I enjoyed this book so much that I honestly cannot think of one negative comment. I have read a lot of reviews claiming it is a Twilight knock-off. First off - people are going to say that about ANY paranormal romance involving teenagers. Just because an author writes a book about a teenager dating a supernatural creature does not mean that he or she read Twilight and thought to themselves, "hey, I think I'm going to rewrite twilight and just insert my own character and supernatural beings!" Um, no, it doesn't work that way. If we went by that logic, we could say that any romance where one or both parents doesn't approve is just a Romeo and Juliet knock-off. Pu-leeze. This is a teen romance that may have had a "twilighty" feel at times, simply because of the content, but it is in no way a Twilight copy-cat.Anyway, like I said - I enjoyed this book way more than I expected. In fact, I found myself 100 pages from the end and thinking "I am going to finish this book tonight..." so I had to make an "emergency" run to Target so I could buy the second :p. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep me interested, but not so many as to make the story seem unrealistic. And that's another huge plus - the story DID seem realistic. The author's writing style, combined with her ability to incorporate these supernatural beings into the teen culture, really drew me into the story and it was easy to feel for the characters and believe what was going on in their lives.I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed Twilight, obviously, as well as anyone looking for a fun, light read. As far as age group, high schoolers would relate to this most, but I could see myself enjoying something like this when I was in middle school, so I'll say 12 and up.

Way better than expected!
The top review on this book is horribly negative and I was expecting to read something on par with many of the indie 99cent paranormal romances I've been getting on my kindle. I gave it a try anyways, and WOW I am so glad I did. This book was so much better than I expected! The storyline was gripping, the characters were interesting, and as soon as I finished I bought both sequels and read them both the next day. I am currently re-reading this book because I liked it that much. It's not perfect, by any means. There are some awkward and flawed scenes/plot points, but overall that stuff is pretty minor. Some other reviewers claim that Patch is a huge jerk the entire time and there was no reason for Nora to fall for him, but I didn't see that at all. I don't want to spoil the ending, but once you get there you realize why he behaved the way he did. He was jerkish at times, but he was also interesting and I fully admit that I was captivated by him.Vee also was criticized by some reviewers as false, but I did not get that feeling at all. The entire time I felt like Vee had her back and was a great friend to her. I didn't see the jealousy thing at all coming from Vee. She has some weight issues, but Vee came across as very self confident and outgoing. I like that there is a sexy, attractive character who isn't rail thin like most characters in these YA novels.I wasn't really fond of the Elliot character. I didn't like how Vee kept trying to force him on Nora and I felt like that was the one plot point that was poorly done. SPOILER HERE Nora has a bad feeling about Elliot the entire time. Later on, he confirms it by acting like a crazy lunatic. For some reason, despite that Vee adores him and constantly is trying to hook him and Nora up. It just seemed really unrealistic and strange that Vee would constantly try and force this guy on Nora that she knows Nora doesn't like. (END SPOILER)I highly recommend this book. I think most people who enjoy paranormal romance will go nuts over this one as well, just like I did. Great great great story!

One Word — Addicting
That book was intoxicating. I finished it in two days… that rarely happens. You feel pulled in deep in the words of Fitzpatrick. I feel like I was there. At times I felt I’d come out of a daze and realized my own reality. The main character Patch is alluring but dark. I couldn’t put it down, I HAD to figure out the mystery looming over my head. I highly recommend!!!

Amazing story; Bad packaging
The book was really good. Once I start reading it, I found myself unable to stop flipping pages. But the packaging was not good it looked crumbled on the edges and also had a scratch on it. The packaging made the book looked like a old, already used book. And since I paid for it I was not expecting to get the book in such a condition.
