Caliburn Small V-Bit Blacksmith Tongs (14.5")

Hard to believe how well made these tongs are, especially for the price! Very nicely finished and work like they should. These are my second set of tongs as you can never have to many different types and have become my favorite. Good job.

This is sized for 3/8" to 1/2" round and square stock. Do not purchase for 1/4" stock, unless you enjoy returning merchandise to Amazon's warehouse. In respect to quality, it's doubtful if finding something superior is possible. If they ever have 1/4" v-bit tong available for purchase, it will be in my basket the moment I am notified. It will grip 1/4" stock from the side, but this feature is useful in a limited number of circumstances.

Great set of tongs. Well made. They held 1/4 inch stock both directions without any problems. They would only hold 3/16 stock cross way. With a little grinding and got work had them holding 3/16 securely in just a few minutes.

As vendor do not display the size they hold, I got this to tried them and they do not hold 1/4 bars on the front only on the side. Not good for me as I only work with 1/4 bars. But may be good for some one that needs them for 1/2 They are strong I have the 3/4 and works like a charm.

These appear to be machine forged which makes sense given the price point. They hold 4-8mm bar stock effortlessly.

Just getting started in blacksmithing. I first made a pair on my own out of rebar. These are so much better. Love the grip.
