G&K Craft Synthrapol Textile Cleaning Solution, 16 Oz

This is used to flush out excess dyes when washing fabric for the 1st time. All quilter's highly recommended this product

Works as described. You must soak the fabric a directed. It will not set the indigo color on denim but does help enough with the rub off that I still use it for denim. I’ve been using Synthrapol for many years with success, esp darker batiks, tho I use it on almost all my batiks. Any dark colored fabrics get this treatment. After treating I continue washing in usual detergent and cold water.

If you are a quilter or other textile artist, this stuff is a life saver.

I’ve used Synthrapol before and have always been pleased with the way it prevents fabric bleeding on my quilts. But this review will focus on the great job that the shipper did with the packaging. The cap of the bottle was sealed with plenty of tape to prevent the top from leaking or accidentally opening. Then it was wrapped in layers of paper and then nestled into more layered paper so there was no chance of it jostling in transit. I was very impressed with the care they took to safeguard the product during shipping.

Tried on my whites that unfortunately got washed with a red shirt. You can see it worked really well getting the color released from the fabric. Unfortunately my whites were very much pink and I couldnt get all the pink out. I think this is perfect for small stain remover!

I am a quilter and I hate prewashing fabric. So I don't. I recently made a quilt out of batik fabrics which are known to bleed easily. I had dark, dark purple and yellows/oranges in the same quilt (see photo). I wasn't sure anything was going to keep the purple from bleeding into the lighter colors, but I washed the finished quilt with Synthrapol in hot water (per the instructions) and had not one bit of bleeding! I am thrilled with the results! From now on I plan to wash anything that I think even might bleed in Synthrapol. Since I give most of my quilts as gifts, the recipient won't have to worry about how to wash their new quilt. Excellent product!

Have heard about this product for first washing of my quilts, but this was the first time I used. Lots of red and it didn’t run! Yea!!!

Easy to use on batik fabric squares bought for a quilt.

The package arrived having been opened (presumably by customs) and the lid was broken. Luckily only a small amount of product leaked out, not the entire contents! Synthrapol works so well when dyeing fibre for spinning. Love this stuff. Thanks!
