water tastes and looks more pure
Water tastes SO MUCH BETTER. No solids visible anymore, either. Hard to believe the difference. Much cheaper than British Berkeley and it's still NSF certified. My complaint: The spiket is slow and easy to over and under tighten (it leaks readily, but if you get it the right tension it's good).Non-problem: The ceramic candle filters take a while to filter the first batch, but now we just use the faucet hose to keep more in the top portion and haven't been bothered by the speed at all.

I love this. So easy to use and set up. Plus we can easily take it in the car on vacation with us too..-no more nasty water.

Welcome relief from the HIGHLY chlorinatamounts of ced city water
Since moving to this small Oregon city six months ago, I had been buying bottled water because the tap water had unbelievable levels of chlorine taste and smell. I am renting so putting a built in (plumbed) filter wasn't an option. This gravitational system was the right answer. The water tastes much better; it is easy to fill and maintain the system; the system is attractive sitting on my counter. I am careful to check water levels in top and bottom reservoirs when refilling so as not to overfill. I usually do this before bedtime because it takes quite a long time for the water to filter through. If several people are using the water, refilling more often may be necessary. You don't need to wait until all of the water filters through to the dispensing container. Water is available at the spigot as soon as it is in the bottom container . The filters last at least six months but they are fairly expensive.

Nice but Doulton filters do not remove red food coloring.
Easy to assemble and water tastes clean. I recommend buying a water gauge since water will seep out around the edge between the two tanks if you overfill the top reservoir. I don't drink a full tank everyday, so need to know how much to refill the upper tank at night. Fill it too much and you'll have water to clean up the next morning. You also may want a TDS Tester in case you need to filter various waters.UPDATE 1/5/2021: I just received the TDS water tester and was surprised at the high numbers. The test came out higher than Britta filtered water and tap water. You cannot determine from the TDS filter whether the solids are good or bad solids in the filtered water. So I decided to empty the filter and put red food coloring in the top reservoir water, expecting to have clear water this morning. It is still pink although not as dark as the water I filled it with. So I have written to the seller for a fix. Will update this review later.UPDATE 1/6/2021: Per Doulton, "TDS is a measure of total dissolved solids in the water. A slight increase in TDS will be due to the presence of the natural and harmless mineral Wollastonite in the ceramic. Wollastonite is slightly soluble in water, so may partly dissolve in the water as it passes through the filter. The red dye test is something that Berky filters do , nothing that we do."

Does an amazing job purifying our “healthy” drinking water from the tap.
Takes chlorine taste out of city tap water. Purifies some really nasty looking water to a very delightful tasting healthy drinking water. I wouldn’t recommend running swamp water thru it often because you’ll definitely shorten the filters life but it can filter it no problem.

Real competition for Berkey
The British Berkefeld works great... Berkey brand water filters have nothing on this great British company! I haven't found anything I don't like about this filter system... If you want a great water filtration system for less money then go with the company who originally perfected the water filtration process... Go with British Berkefeld! By the way.. for those who may not know , the Berkefeld filtration system can also use the Berkey filters ! I love mine!

Does not work
I ordered a RO system for my home. The plumber had a device to test the water. I ordered one myself to double check the results because they were not as expected. One person used this system for less than 2 months. Filters are definitely still good. Readings are as follows:Water from tap - 536Water from Berkey - 518!!!!!Water from fridge filter - 488****Anything over 200 is not considered safe to drink****Water from Dasani bottled water - 18If it wasn't for the Dasani water testing within reasonable limits I would think the tester was incorrect, but with two devices used and the bottled water testing fine I don't believe this system works at all.
