Modern Spare Complete Compact Spare Tire Kit With Carrying Case - Fits 2017-2026 Tesla Model 3

I recently purchased this Modern Spare tire Kit for my Tesla Model 3 Performance and have been very pleased with it. The tire is well-made, compact and fits perfectly in the trunk with enough storage space. I now have peace of mind knowing I have a spare in case of an emergency. The tire looks nice and seems durable. While I hope to never need it, this Modern Spare is an excellent addition to my Tesla Model 3 Performance that I'd recommend to any owner. The price is reasonable for the quality and convenience. A must-have accessory if you drive a Tesla​​ without run-flat tires. I give a total 5 star.

I love it when you buy a product and it exceeds your already high expectations. Every component of this kit is well designed and of high quality. As soon as I received the spare for my Tesla Model 3 Performance I practiced changing a tire so that my first experience doing it wouldn’t be in a more stressful situation. The jack was smooth and rock solid. The lug wrench was heavy duty and provided enough torque that loosening the lug nuts was not difficult at all. And as a bonus, the wheel has a style that is attractive, unlike spares that I’m used to. I hope that I never need to use it, but knowing that I have a high quality fix if I ever need it gives me tons of comfort.

I just did a test fit in my flat, clean, well lighted garage. And got my exercise. BUT if I were stranded somewhere, this would be a lifesaver even though would take quite a while to put on during a rainy night.as would any spare tire. Similarly, there are lots of little parts to loose (lug nuts, socket). I did not need to use a puck. The jack has a pad on it. The package is very high quality and beautifully machined, polished, and fitted. What finally sold me were the dimensions. The Amazon site shows approximately 10 inches above and beside the stored tire. Guess what? A full size suitcase fits above the tire and beside it. So yes, it LOOKS like it takes up a lot of room ( and it does) but it’s really not so bad. Five stars.

I am very pleased with my spare tire kit from Modern Spare. All materials are of the highest quality. The carrying bag helps keep all the parts and tools in one spot and saves room in my car trunk. I highly recommend Modern Spare to anyone who wants/needs a spare wheel that is far superior to the dinky donut wheels supplied by car manufacturers.

If you choose to buy the tire kit, it comes with: a scissor jack, a lug wrench, the tesla jack pads (you need these so you don't damage your car), and of course the spare tire itself. You will need all of these tools to successfully change out your tire. An important issue I do have to bring up is. **IMPORTANT** If you have a Tesla Model 3 that is a REAR WHEEL DRIVE and is in HOLD STOPPING MODE, you will find that sometimes the car will not begin breaking for you once you life your foot off the acceleration petal. Be attentive when you are driving with this spare as you might have to apply the breaks yourself.

Great quality and nicely packaged with the carrying case holding the tire and all tools. It is narrow enough to fit behind the passenger seat. Will use it for rode trips.

The scissor jack surprised me with how sturdy it is. It is not a cheap flimsy scissor jack. I was worried using this with a heavy Tesla Model 3 (and because the minimum clearance on a flat tire wouldnt be enough) so I bought a super light all Aluminum racing jack to supplement but when I got it and tested it, as long as it fits, the scissor jack is actually pretty strong, relatively stable, and well built/heavy duty as scissor jacks go. The rest of the package is high quality as well. complete peace of mind. I keep it in the model 3 trunk and still have room for groceries although it gets a bit tight sometimes.

Don't get me wrong. This is a great product but not for a Tesla car. The good: well designed spare - light aluminum, with tools, and case - everything that I need as a spare. Shipping was extremely quick and everything was really smooth with the vendor. The bad: I have a dual motor Tesla and the different wheel sizes causes the brakes on the other wheel on the axle to brake continuously to prevent the axle to pull more on one side . Drove about 2 miles below 40 mph and the full size rear wheel was so hot that I could smell the brake pads. In a Tesla, this spare will only help you to get out of traffic but will not allow you to drive far. As noted above, not the fault of the product - but does not really meet the expectations for the Tesla 3. If you only want to use the spare to get out of traffic only, this will work. But if you want to continue your trip until you get to a more convenient service station, you may want to buy a full size tire. NOTE: If you are buying the full size tire, you may want to make sure that the TPMS is coded to your car as the flat tire will still read as flat and this will cause Tesla FSD to display a flat safety warning and may even limit your driving speed. Recoding the TPMS of the spare with the car will allow you to clear this error (factory reset) and you will be able to drive the vehicle with the spare.
