When you buy the Catholic Book Publishing edition of the Liturgy of the Hours, the publisher includes inserts with frequently used liturgical texts so you don't have to keep finding those texts in the depths of the book. Convenient! But they're printed on flimsy normal-weight paper, which means that unless you're scrupulous, normal wear-and-tear will take its toll. This little package is the inexpensive solution. It is the same texts, but printed on much heavier--and much more durable--card stock. You will likely find this a good investment if you're using the book every day.One observation, though: Since the four volumes of the Liturgy of the Hours are fairly expensive and these cards are inexpensive, why doesn't Catholic Book Publishing simply package these with the books in the first place?

I have recently done my sacraments, and even before officially being catholic I was doing my hours. My sponsor is an oblate and a wonderful role model, and a dear friend. I Thank god for her every day. Once you figure out how to do your hours it's easy, but until then it can be difficult. I suggest you purchase the little book that tells you on what day what pages you need to read. The point of doing your "hours" is to spend time with the lord throughout the day. So don't read your evening prayers in the morning just to get through them. That defeats the purpose. The book is called St. Joseph's Guide for the Liturgy of the hours. I think it was $1.80.

This is such a blessing to have the Church give to Her children, life giving water. I soak in it 5 to 7 times a day. Used it to replace a copy I lost. Left in a pew, perhaps, or maybe at the donut shop. Matched the rest of the set of four that I have. I have since switch to a free ipad app that is easier to use on a daily basis, but harder for saint's days and the memorial of Mary on Saturday.I have a neice that I'll pass the four volume set to when I decide that the app is enough.

This set made it easier to learn the Liturgy of the Hours. The inserts are just the right size and have held up well for over a year.
